Review as at Nov 2023 Good green space amongst the corporate hullabaloo of Sandton.

A few positives first:

The park is fenced off and security controlled at the boom,

Ample parking in the boomed off area,

Good restaurant and bar where mom and baby or lawyers and accountants alike can quietly have a drink and a bite, closes a bit later than the park.

Shady jungle gym for kids to play

The bad and the ugly:

Grass cutting, grooming and litter control need to be prioritised, this is a park.

Too many events are held here on weekends, lately it's been almost every weekend.

No visble advancement to the storm water management repairs. There is a contractor signboard but work seems stagnant for the last 6 months.

The restaurant is booked for too many events or often full. A casual visit will often end in disappointment, phone ahead to book a table.

Park closes at 18h00. I wanted to loop in for a run but was denied entry by security. Please review closing...

We’ve been going to Mushroom Park for years and in the last year it has drastically become run down. I went yesterday 06/11 after an event was held in the weekend. Mind you this is a family park and dog friendly park. There was broken glass everywhere, chicken bones and bottle caps scattered across the majority of the park. It was littered with plastic and black sheets. This is not a once off, it has happened throughout the year. Since the bridge broke down Nov 2022 the park has really gone down. We have lost communities because it is no longer safe or clean to meet at the park. It is also disappointing given that it is in the heart of Sandton, home to a now very...

We would frequent Mushroom park all the time with my kids. It was clean and properly maintained. I was there recently and wont go there in a hurry. It is filthy, with lots of trash lying around, the grass is overgrown and there are more weeds than proper plants. Most of the equipment and jungle jims are broken making it hazardous for your kids to play on. Both bridges are broken so no one can access the other side of the park. It had somuch potential which has been lost. Not sure what the parks board is doing with all the money they should be using to maintain this park, but there has been nothing...

How will I start I don't know, but I don't have the right words to show. To start with I want to thank you for the kind gesture you did for me. In today's world, when people don't really appreciate your efforts, you went all the way for me. I don't know if thanks would be enough to value what you have done for me. I was really tensed about the whole situation, but you made it so easy for me. You have a solution for my every problem. That is the reason I am so thankful to you. I wanted to express my feelings to you. So, once again let me tell you. A heartfelt thank you!

It used to be a really nice park to visit. I visited recently, half the park has no grass and is sandy, while the other half is covered with grass that is not well maintained, as seen in the pictures below. No sign of whether this is temporary or not. There is a restaurant/bar in the park which looks nice and chill, but I did not visit it. There is also a nice kids play area if you're looking for something outdoorsy. However, there are a few picnic spots. But the park is not as nice as before.
