Was so excited to come Greenhouse today for the first time with my girls for Salsa night but were disappointed by the waitor’s lack of effort in trying to cater to us and our needs at the time - it seemed he just didn’t want to have to “go the extra mile” yet our requests weren’t even out of the ordinary. This could be an institution thing or it could just be our waiter but for example we had wanted drinks without alcohol and he insisted this wasn't “allowed” and it was their restaurant rules. He didn’t make an effort to go ask the manager or the bar if this could be arranged (especially because at any other restaurant or bar I’ve been to, even if there aren’t specialised virgin cocktails they will have an option to order existing menu cocktails sans alcohol in an effort to give the customer great service) - he continued to insist the best we could get is water or cranberry juice 🙃 yet after bringing this to the attention of the host she mentioned that we could definitely just request the barman doesn’t add alcohol? Throughout our time there he just showed zero effort in trying to make any request possible. We could get food anywhere or sit at home and eat but we chose to come out and support. This situation is small but in tough financial times like these, when a customer is making an effort to financial support and contribute to your institution the least we could get back is value in service...
Read moreI was so looking forward to trying out the Greenhouse. I made a reservation and on arrival we unknowingly entered through the wrong door. We entered by the bar.
While just standing there like lost sheep waiting for a waiter to seat us. There was a group of waiters close to the bar to the left of us chatting away and completely ignoring us. I eventually walked up to them to advise we made a booking and if they could help us. One of them then told us where the main entrance was.
The hostess who then received us was not very friendly she did assist us and parked us at a table with no menus and after sitting for about 10 minutes with no waiter coming to serve us, my friend and I got up to leave. No one asked where we were going or why we were leaving. The hostess just watched us walked out.
I have never in my life felt so unwelcome and received service this terrible at a place before. I can't even excuse the poor service to them being really busy and understaffed. There was what looked like a function or one big group seated and lots of waiters standing around idle but clearly not caring that we were sitting there waiting to be served. The rest of the restaurant was quiet.
We opted to drive down to the Cod Father instead and enjoy our Sunday afternoon there which was absolutely excellent.

Read moreFriends/family and I went on Friday night (7 March) for the Clint L event, we were having a good time until someone snatched my cellphone from my bag on the dance floor. There were so many bounces around but not one assisted. We raised it immediately with them but nothing was done. I went to the front desk and the lady there called who I am assuming was her manager and all he said was they couldnt check the cameras without the police even though the incident happened right then and my phone was still ringing.
All he did was handed me a piece of paper to write down a contact number incase they find my phone. And that was it! You would think jus after the incident that happened right next door their security would be on high alert, but with all the bounces around no one seen anything and nothing was done from the venue to assist me.
We were 7 of us, we spent alot of money to be at the event and spent alot of money on food and drinks whilst at the venue. But receiving such poor service on this incident is quite pathetic.
Even leaving awaiting your uber outside in the parking lot you feel so unsafe. My cousins husband almost got mugged until he shouted at the guy that was standing practically ontop of him trying to distract him while waiting for their uber. For such an upmarket place you need to improve on your security and atleast assist your customers. None of us...
