It's one of the worst Indian restaurants, which I don't like to go again. I went with my uncle 1st time and asked them to give the food extra hot (extra spicy), but the curry was very sweet. They added lots of sugar on its. We called them and told them nicely and we did eat the same food and explained to them next time pls make them spicy. He said customers' satisfaction is important and bla... bla... bla... After 3 days later I ordered again two curries again and told them to make extra hot. But the curries are so sweet, and my 6 years son ate and saying very sweet. When we told the manager, he started to say we were very busy from the whole day and have to ask the chef. We told him you took the order, not chef, then he started the same statement, like a tape recorder, what he said on 1st day exactly the same sentence "customer satisfaction is important". The shop is just running for without involvement and not any serious about the quality of food. There is nothing about caring about customers, but as soon as asked or gave any complaints, they started to say, "Customer satisfaction is important." This is very, very worst, restaurants in the Meyersdal area.

one of the WORST places to eat. Its unexpected to receive raw food, over 75% of my laccha paratha was RAW. It was disgusting attitude and behaviour from the manager, unexpectable behaviour. He became confrontational and angry with me, "putting myself in his shoes" he said. I own a restaurant I have to charge you because its a couple weeks later. Yet he had told my family and I he will cover our meals completely anytime. How can he go back on his word. THIS MANAGER IS DISGUSTING. YOU shouldn't be receiving raw food, this can make you extremely sick and possible send you to hospital. Will never go back. If you want to go to a Indian restaurant, I highly recommend The Mumbai Masala New Redruth, they have the most tasty food with exceptional service.

This is lovely restaurant for both take-out and an in-dining experience. With a warm and pleasant atmosphere, a tastefully and artfully decorated environment, delicious authentic cuisine, tasty fun cocktails, and surprisingly affordable prices, what is not to love? I'll tell you... It's the restroom. That is the only part of the restaurant that gives it away as not entirely upper-class. If not for that, I would have given The Classic India five stars. I had the vegetarian platter, and I didn't know what most of the food on the platter was, but enjoyed every bite. The cocktails are also great! I can't wait to go back and work my way through every item on the page and a half of vegetarian options.

Last night we decided to get curry for dinner as a takeaway as there was no power and it was bitterly cold outside, so curry was very very fitting. We usually get our curry from a different place in Bedfordview but decided to give this place a try as it was closer to home. Placing our order on the phone went very smoothly and the gentleman who took the order was very efficient and polite. When we went to collect we were met with a warm welcome and a beautiful aroma that filled the restaurant. Unfortunately the food was underwhelming. I ordered the lamb Roganjosh Kashmiri (R140.00) and the lamb had a very strong lamb taste (stronger than I am used to) and the curry itself lacked flavour and balance and was just spicy and acidic. We barely got any meat and basically just sauce and rice. The garlic naan was overcooked and dry and very chewy to eat but the butter naan was a lot more appetising. Even though the service was great, the food lacks finesse and much needed love that curry usually should embody. We will continue to go to the place in Bedfordview as the curry there is by far the best in JHB. I would recommend increasing the amount of meat in each serving and focus on infusing more flavour...

I tried out this restaurant for the first time in the week last week. I ordered the following to check out how each dish was:

●butter chicken ●chicken briyani ●prawn and chicken curry ●prawn briyani

In terms of the food itself, the smell and aroma that came from the food items when the food was placed was simply amazing, each item had it's own unique taste and flavour, seafood and poultry was soft and melted in your mouth, the rice was perfectly cooked and a great variety of dishes and taste, only critique I have Is that the briyani and butter chicken was borderline bland but the prawn and chicken curry was perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere was amazing and service was out of this world.

●gulab jamun(Honestly was not a fan of this, the syrup had no sweetness to it and was very watery,it also just had an aftertaste of old frying oil like the oil wasnt changed and just wasn't pleasant to eat at all.)

●Bombay crush(a perfect way to end the...
