I had visited sushi club for the second time, the first time I had the white dragon roll in which it had hardly any prawn keep in mind it’s a 6 piece prawn sushi for R195 with hardly any prawn at all. The second time I visited was the 23rd of March 2 weeks later, and I specifically asked the waiter to tell the chef to please make sure there’s prawn inside or add prawn inside because the last time there was none. Does my sushi not come TWO PIECES WITHOUT ANY PRAWN AT ALL. (Keep in mind I did eat it all but then told the waiter anyway so they know they there was no prawns in 2 pieces of my sushi, EVEN after I had asked and told him my bad experience the last time with them) if you work in hospitality you would know already you would not charge the customer or give them another portion with all the ingredients they paying for). We tell the waiter, manager we aren’t happy and the manager proceeds to say can I offer you some coffee or what can I do for you instead of doing the right thing and perhaps taking it off the bill or make another portion but this time WITH prawn inside. No instead we had to speak to the waiter again after receiving the bill with them charging us for the sushi, then the waiter got the same manager back and he said okay he will give us a percentage off (15%) and we just paid and left. I’ve been in hospitality for more than 6 years now only working in Fine dinning restaurants and let me tell you this is SHOCKING.if you want to charge that much for 6 pieces of sushi atleast put all the ingredients inside.

Read moreWe were eager to try the sushi club as we always love trying new places. Sadly we won’t be back. Wonderful wait staff who were truly trying their best. Sadly they are undermined by awful food quality. Completely bland, unseasoned, unbalanced and at times utterly inedible. The duck spring rolls were horribly bland. The beef in the udon not seasoned at all. The “salmon lover” was just California rolls smothered in awfully fishy, diced salmon, which was so inedible we had to take it off to enjoy it the sushi. The salmon abushi tasting like nothing but the coal it was fired with. For the prices I feel utterly ripped off. It’s as if this restaurant is trying too hard food wise to be “fancy”, and as a result not succeeding in quality or execution at all. For way better quality sushi and Asian food, look elsewhere. The service was nothing short of exceptional. Our waiter, Sifiso, went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. He was friendly, attentive, and his genuine warmth added a personal touch to our experience. The entire staff was incredibly welcoming and made sure everything was perfect.
As for the food, it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell the chefs put a lot of thought and care into their creations.
Overall, The Sushi Club is a must-visit. Brilliant atmosphere, amazing service, and incredible food. We can’t wait...
