Toni's is an institution. I am not aware of any better pizza in Pretoria.
The pizza menu is very diverse. The options are also quite unique. There are simpler options, but with options for lamb and yogurt, butternut, or caviar, I'm sure anyone would find an enjoyable pizza. You also have the option of going half-and-half, two flavours on one pizza.
The large pizzas are very large, definitely a shareable dinner. I ended up taking half my pizza home, where I would normally do about 6/8 slices.
We went on a busy Friday night. It was quite loud, but manageable in terms of having a conversation. Clientele was generally down-to-earth.
Parking was limited, so we had to park on the street. There was a car guard on the street, and didn't seem like just anybody from anywhere there for a buck. I wasn't uncomfortable leaving my car outside.
Overall, a very good experience, once again. If it was closer, I would go there much more regularly. If you haven't been to Toni's, I assume you are not from Pretoria, because it is an institution. 10/5,...
Read moreWow! What an amazing experience! Laid back atmosphere- with a convenient kiddies play area so I could enjoy the best pizza and pasta we have had in years!!! My sister and I had focaccia with mozzarella for a starter - was yummy- but the pizza and pasta was so filling - we wished we had not! I had the Chorizo creamy pasta with penne- the creamiest and freshest sauce and thinnest slices of Chorizo. My sister had the 33cm pizza and again so fresh with parsley on top. Again so tasty! Food took a while but menu did warn and it was worth the wait!!! Service was good too and drinks affordable. Kiddies menu is also priced well and great variety. Missed the live music on Sunday though but the restaurant was extra clean and fresh! There were water mist sprayers to keep the whole restaurant cool. Nicely priced with amazing food and atmosphere. Read moreThe pizza was great, but I am very disappointed with the dessert, the beer and the pasta I got. Firstly, the dessert had two flies in. Secondly, the beer seemed off as it seemed sour and watered down. When the bill came we were charged for the beers after sending them back, and when I spoke to the manageress who was managing on the 18th of April she asked us whether we just didn't like the beer and I informed her that it's one of the beers we always drink but it seemed off here. She then just halved the prices of the beers but we still paid for it despite the flies in our dessert. Thirdly, I specifically asked the waiter about a pasta, requesting whether it is a creamy pasta of not and he informed me that it is, but when it got to the table it was the exact opposite of creamy. This place was terribly disappointing and I won't...
