Wing Wah Sushi (Faerie Glen) — Restaurant in Gauteng

Very good sushi at the best prices in Pretoria East.

Ate here past Saturday 31/11/2024. Was served by a waitress by the name of Abigail. Abigail was not the best waitress, never available half the time, and essentially extended our stay by easily 45 minutes because she was no where to be found. We asked other waiters where she was and they couldn’t say.

When it came to tipping, which is not obligatory, because minimum wage is now enforced by law for ALL waiters, I tipped 10%, only for her to say that the service charge must be 15%.

As I was honestly so fed up by that point, I just told her to add her 15% so we could finish up and leave.

It’s very sad when a lovely, well priced restaurant is destroyed by the hopeless staff that they employ. There was another review here about a waiter saying she should get more tip and being rude - I would honestly not be surprised if it was the same Abigail that served us.

Will come here again, but will make sure Abigail does not serve...

The food was great but the waitress wasn’t at all , the food took long which is understandable but when it came to paying the waitress just asked “where’s my 10%” which according to me isn’t the right way to ask for a better tip . We were only 2 people who didn’t order much so we didn’t feel the need to give a huge tip she just stood there and stared at the bill looking at us trying to make us feel bad , I am a student and just wanted a nice time out but her mood towards us made it unpleasant to be there , when we called the manager she isn’t even hear us out so we just said let’s just pay more it’s fine we just want to leave and the manager just left . The waitress didn’t even take the tip or the extra and just put the price of the food on the card machine and when she walked away she said loudly “never come here again” so that...

I cannot give a rating less than 1 star, but even that is too much to express how disappointing our experience has been! Apparently, if some members of your party opt for the sushi buffet then everyone is compelled to have the same. (Nowhere is that stated as part of the Ts&Cs) No amount of discussion allowed us to order separate dishes EVEN when the cost was MORE than that of the buffet! Our orders were declined! How is this reasonable when we were prepared to PAY MORE than the establishment expected! We were left without food simply because one of us wanted LESS plates.In no way was the restaurant disadvantaged by our request. Very unreasonable! Poor understanding on the part of the owners!
