Today my experience was a disaster. The usual waitresses were on holiday and so a stand-in served me. The waitresses are superb and, my wife and I, eat there very often. It took a long time to even explain what I wanted to order. I mentioned a chef that would understand our orders and was advised that no-one of his name worked there. After checking, I found him myself/ and he helped - he was great. I ordered a take-away for the car guard and, although it took a considerable amount of time, he eventually got it. I asked where my take-away was (I had eaten a few things at the restaurant and the rest were take-aways). After sitting at the restaurant for 1 hour, I asked about the take-away part of the order and it had been sitting on the counter. I admit I did rant out loud and advised that I never wanted that particular lady ever to serve me again ( I have enough drama in my life - some of it health related)... I was accosted by another customer.... who gave me a lecture and dressing down that I probably could afford to eat at a 5-star restaurant (I can't) and shouldn't rant at the staff the way I did. When I wanted to explain he did not allow me to... saying he'd heard enough. I eat at that outlet (with my wife and sometime friends/family) and it's always been superb. I was, maybe, too much annoyed and ranted too much but I was annoyed at how a restaurant could allow their service to diminish so much... even at this time of the year. I'm now, thanks to this interfering customer (who wouldn't engage in dialogue), considering moving my wallet to a different restaurant... I wonder if he even knows what he's managed to do... without giving me a chance to explain......
Read moreKung Fu Kitchen on Atterbury Road is a complete disappointment. My recent visit was nothing short of a culinary disaster. The ambiance was dismal, resembling a poorly maintained cafeteria rather than a welcoming restaurant. The seating was uncomfortable, and the decor was outdated and unappealing.
Moving on to the food, which was the most disappointing aspect of all. The dishes were bland and tasteless, lacking any semblance of authentic Chinese cuisine. It felt like I was eating reheated leftovers that had lost all flavor. The portions were small, especially considering the prices they charge, making it an unjustifiable expense.
Service was equally abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and untrained, taking forever to bring out our orders and then forgetting simple requests like extra utensils or napkins. There was a lack of professionalism and courtesy that left a sour taste in my mouth, quite literally.
Overall, I would strongly advise against dining at Kung Fu Kitchen in Atterbury Road. It fails on all fronts — from food quality to service to ambiance. Save your time and money and find a better dining option elsewhere...
Read moreOrdered for takeaway 2 portions of calamari chow fan and dumplings. Received the dumplings and asked if it shouldn’t come with sweet and sour sauce they lady then told us to give back the soy sauce. Then we got home opened our chow faan and in one of the portions there was 5 pieces of calamari so I proceeded to call and they told me there should be 7/8. Calamari was tough and chewy couldn’t finish our food and the pieces were all different sizes. How can one size be a certain length and the other a quarter of the size then they want to claim there is 7 full pieces, dumplings burnt and not tasty and very dry! dumplings are supposed to satisfy you and almost melt in your mouth . I then asked for head office number or email and was told they aren’t allowed to give it out. Such a disappointment from Kung-fu kitchen we always order from there and we always get good food but this time it was bad that we had to switch it out for something else. Very very dissatisfied will go back to Sasaki sushi and...
