Bosun's Arms — Restaurant in George

Sadly I have to add a review. We have been to Bosuns a couple of times, and each time we had ok food and ok service. However last night was a shocker - I am so disappointed with myself for not walking out, but in defense I was with 2 elderly people one of them on crutches who does not move fast and has other issues - so getting up and leaving was going to be trickier. The service was beyond shocking - drinks took a LONG time and then we were told they did not have what we ordered. Food took an hour and 3/4 to arrive - and to clear the table did not happen so I offered to help. The check took a while to arrive. What is even more disappointing is that no matter how many times a smiley manager arrived to ask if everything was OK nothing changed - even though we would say what the issues were. I get it - it's in season - stock has run out - waiters are run off their feet. I would not manage a restuarant for love or money. But when you want an evening out and you want to spend your hard earned cash you expect at least some consideration, some managerial input, something or someone that acknowledges they dropped the ball big time. We did tip the waiter - he apologized. But it's the attitude of the managers that has left me reeling - and if the waiter was 'in training' then we should have...

We went there after checking their menu online. We went there with high hopes of having good vegetarian options as what shows on their website. We ordered our food, and my husband ordered ( mezze platter) Food arrived My stake was tasty My son burgur was tasty My husband was choked as he got a platter full of meat !!!! The waiter apologised and promised to solve the problem. After a while, he came saying the Mediterranean kitchen is closed and we should order something else. There was nothing appealing in the menu. Eventually, he ordered nachos. Then someone approached asking if we were happy, and we explained the issue for her . She said two day ago they had this platter but not today, and she is sorry . Then another staff member came and apologised and said it was the waiter falt and that they didn't have this platter for a long time.!!! I don't know who was saying the truth. After all that, they charged us for the horrible nachos. I think the least they can do is not to charge for nachos because it was their mistake Try to be creative as vegetarian food doesn't need special talent, and you can make good food from what you have in your kitchen.

Best Steak and Spare Ribs I ever had in my life.

We heard from this place only from our Quad bike Tour Guide and it was the best recommendation I ever had. I must say I didn't expect to get such amazing food there. Everything started with some very good Garlic Rolls, but then the T-Bone Steak arrived. I never enjoyed every bite as much as here. You feel like you're in heaven. (when I'm there I would like some food like this again) Also I took multiple bites from my friends Spare Ribs and they were also perfectly made. They just fell off the bone. Also everything had a very good price: 1kg ribs for just R245 Two of us even had each twice the 1kg Ribs! It was so delicious!

If I lived here I would come every second day. I wouldn't wonder, if I dream the rest of my life from this food.

In the end we even need to take a picture with the cook and the owner. This day was definitely one to remember. If I'm ever around again, I will come again and also recommend everybody...
