McDonald's Shelly Beach Drive-Thru — Restaurant in Hibiscus Coast Local Municipality

We have been to McDonald's a few times and almost every time there seems to be a problem with our order.

First time I had ordered a hot chocolate only to find that it was a cup of milk and no hot chocolate. Called McDonald's and was told they are so sorry they will speak to the staff regarding this. I had already drove to margate so I was not going to go back for another one.

Thereafter there were times when the toy was not given however we were no prepared to drive all the way back to get these.

Today I had ordered 3 happy meals 2 Big Mac meals 1 Chicken meal 1 Jalepino sauce

When leaving the drive thru I asked 2 times if everything was packed. Then as I drive I realise I was not given the 3 toys and the person at the collection window said im so sorry here it is. I aksed again are u sure everything is packed... I should have really checked myself. Got home boxed Juices were not packed. Called spoke to manager Jacob all he can do is apologize. Says it's different staff on different days that is why this happened. I told him Staff training should not be at the customers expense. I had agreed I would at another time pick up the Juices as I am not driving in the traffic to get it. Opened up our meals and again the sauces I paid for was not there. Called Jacob again and he said he is not going to traumatize the lady by asking her to double check what she packs. He told me he is in the office and not on the floor so he can't go there to speak to her. So I suggested that maybe he go on the floor and supervise so this does not happen to other customers.

Long story short... Check your meals when purchasing from Mcdonalds.. After this time I am really not purchasing from there again

Both times we visited it was very busy, however the efficient staff got the food out quickly. First visit we used the drive thru, second time the drive thru line was out to the main road so we opted to go inside. Using both services gets a 👍however parking is a bit of a problem when it is busy as the drive thru is right where you park...so you need a small car to get in and out or you have to wait for someone to let you out. Unfortunately, as we were there at a very busy time getting out was a problem and we had to wait a while for a gap as the cars had no where to go...so if the line for the drive thru is long keep in mind the inside service might seem faster but you could wait a while to leave the premises.

We had originally tried ordering with the Macdonalds app and Mr Delivery but both apps said they don't do deliveries only collections are available. While there I saw a driver for Mr D. I asked him about deliveries and he said they do deliveries. I checked our area and he confirmed it was possible so I'm not sure why the app won't allow to order for delivery.

Overall very happy with food and...

Firstly, we appreciated the disabled parking that is located at the entrance of the store - perfect for our family member who has challenges with disabled parking being so far away from any entrance.

Secondly, we were a little disappointed to find that we had just missed breakfast by 5 minutes as we had traveled quite a distance and could not find this establishment.😔 Therefore, we had to place a normal order outside of the breakfast menu.

Thirdly, we were surprised by the speedy delivery of our order and were more pleasantly surprised (for a change!) to find that our meals were made with precision, actually tasted really good, was not lacking any sauce/s and was really juicy to bite into! AND the McCafe cappuccino!? Absolutely lovely!

It has been a long time since we have walked into a McDonald’s store and were actually happy with the service, food, location and the super clean toilets.

PLUS, having access to a plug point at the table you’re seated at? FANTASTIC.
