Concha — Restaurant in KwaDukuza Local Municipality

It's last day of our holiday and we need to travel back to JHB so we need a breakfast place that open early. Concha open from 06h00 so it's the perfect choice. Our service is good from our server and we got our food very efficiently. I had a zen bowl which is just vegetarian items and it was made full of flavours. It was not heavy that you feel sick and it was healthy fillings. My husband had the salmon breakfast and my son had a bacon & egg toasted croissant. The food was good but I wished I came for their lunch/waffles/cocktails rather as you can tell more if a place serves good food or not. For what we ordered, it was delicious!

They serve 'fancy' 'healthy' 'specialty' breakfast items so the prices will be on the slightly expensive side. You are looking from R85 onwards. Coffee prices are standard. Smoothies or milkshakes are about R70 and a glass of iced coffee is R50.

If you want to feel the authentic Ballito local coffee / bakery vibe this is the place to go. It’s also a great starting point for a walk along the Ballito promenade and usually buzzing with locals any time of the day 7 days a week.

You might be surprised to see tables and chairs outside all around the parking lot but local demand led to it being completely acceptable and it’s a lovely way to experience the local vibe. Bikers, runners and cyclists regularly enjoy Concha as a pit stop and your dog certainly won’t be neglected as people often bring their best friend for a drink after taking them for a walk on the promenade.

Besides being a bakery, Concha do some delicious meals as well some pretty amazing breakfasts. Ask Senzo to make you a delicious “Clean Ice” which is their secret low calorie blended iced black coffee & honey drink - super refreshing after building up a sweat! Total disappointment and overcharging. We come all the way from Pretoria and we ordered waffles. After much anticipation we got our waffles only to realise it is half the size it used to be only a few months ago.

Asked the waiter where’s the rest and he said they’ve recently changed and now only serve half portions but the price is still the same as always. The manager couldn’t care less as her words were, they had a price increase and changed it to half portion. Same price half the value.

Nowhere on the menu is it indicated that half portions are now served. All the restaurants around them are fully seated they are empty and its peak season in Ballito. This happens when you become stingy.
