Friend House Ballito — Restaurant in KwaDukuza Local Municipality

For the first time my heart was a little sad as sushi is my favorite food. This place claimed to have the “best sushi” in ballito and on Uber eats yet I disagree. My boyfriend and I decided to come here and we sat browsing their menu. First of all their prices are great and you can get a deal of buy one get one free. This was the only good thing about this place. I hate to discriminate but I don’t want people to go through the same thing we went through. My boyfriend asked the lady for a coke and she took forever to bring it because she’s talking to the other workers as they just laughed and played their music. My boyfriend had to sit up and again and go ask her for it? When his coke came it wasn’t even served in a glass, it just came in a can? Another thing was the food preparation seemed so off putting cause their was a commotion of coughing. Sushi is meant to be handled with care and hygiene. My boyfriend ordered the salmon roses and spicy tuna California rolls. At first we thought this didn’t look to bad but the taste wasn’t very fresh. The rice wasn’t ideal for sushi as it fell apart and wasn’t handled properly. The salmon roses had the smallest amount of salmon. More kewpie Mayo than anything. I have had many sushi in life and I know what quality sushi looks like and this wasn’t it. The staff weren’t very friendly and seemed quite unbothered. I love the food here but the service – not so much!

The staff are extremely rude, unprofessional and disrespectful.  We noticed that whilst preparing meals, they often talk in their vernacular amongst themselves, often laughing in high-pitched tones and gossiping about customers in the store. The service is totally unacceptable, and behaviour befitting for the circus. You must wait long times before you are served at the front because there are many staff gathering together to watch videos on their cell phone. The staff need to learn how to communicate with customers, other than rolling their eyes and making unpleasant expressions. It appears their phones are more important than the quality of their service. We are appalled and disappointed as we have left previous reviews in attempts to rectify the situation, but the service has deteriorated to a point where my friends, family, staff and colleagues will not...

We arrived around 12:50 on a Saturday, there was just one customer seated and waiting for her takeaway. Nobody seated us, I asked for the menu at the till. When we were ready to order, nobody came.. I had to walk to the till to place a sit down order.. Still only 1 other customer seated. Food portions are very generous, lots of protein.. We ordered the prawn and beef chow mein. I ordered the prawn Avalanche, which is buy 1 get 1 free, it was really good.. I ate 3 and from the mains I could only manage to eat 1/3 of my meal.. The food is really good value for money.
