Honest review: There is no delivery guy to track when you order through Uber Eats. This is the second time we have had difficulty with the delivery, unfortunately. I have had my phone on me, checking it every few minutes, and keeping my eyes on our gate, knowing full well that our previous experience was difficult.
They claim that they phoned us multiple times, but there are no missed calls from them. To note: the manager says that he tried to contact me via Uber Eats. I am still trying to find evidence of this, but will edit my review once I can substantiate his claim.
They claim they can't find our road, and that it is not on Maps. I live in a familiar road in Morningside, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps the system on their side needs an update? Who knows. I guess these things can happen.
They claimed that my address is marked wrong on the system. It is not. I triple-checked before and after.
Pathetic initial service. Better service when the manager came to drop it off himself. Very apologetic, and there was a friendly exchange.
HOWEVER, the manager called me (now he has my number, but couldn't get through last night??), and he, to put it mildly, was utterly unprofesssional, rude and argumentative. I actually can't believe the encounter. To quote him; "I hope you sleep well at night". He is happy to attack my character, and deflect. What kind of manager does this?
NOTE: What it comes down to is this: The food is satisfactory, but we (I am sure there are others out there who have happier experiences) found it very difficult, twice now, to deal with them VIA Uber Eats.
We were planning to continue supporting them, but decided to divert from the Uber Eats option. HOWEVER, I must say, after the manager's phone call this morning, we will save ourselves the trouble entirely. I am not designed for drama and I certainly don't take kindly to insults.

Starters: Crumbed Mushrooms & Spicy Chicken Strips • Mushrooms were crumbed well, but were bland and desperately required seasoning. • Chicken strips were excellent! It was extremely spicy and well seasoned. It was enjoyed and would be recommended.
Mains: Grilled Hake; Del Forno Prego Portuguese Roll; Grande Vegetarian Burger • Hake was dry and lacked flavour entirely. Certainly not worth it. • Prego Roll was overall bland, the sauce tasted of nothing, lacked seasoning and contained raw onions. • Burger was also relatively bland, the only thing you could taste was the tsatsiki and the halloumi was overdone.
Dessert: Ooey Gooey Choc Chip Cookie & Baked Cheesecake with Hazelnut sauce • Cookie was covered in caramel sauce which was not too enjoyable. It was served with a scoop of tasteless vanilla ice-cream which was not great at all, regular soft-serve ice-cream would've been far better. • Cheesecake did not taste like cheesecake at all. It was merely a textured slice of dessert that tasted of nothing really. It was doused with chocolate sauce, no flavour of hazelnut whatsoever. Space: Aesthetically pleasing, with a nice ambiance. Restaurant is neat and well presented.
Service: Manager and staff made the effort to check on us for the duration we were there. Waitress was too soft spoken and seemed unhappy to serve us.
Prices: The meal prices are medium-to-high. Some are unreasonable, for instance, R120 for a mediocre burger. The prices don't meet the standard and taste of the food served.

New owner and management has taken over. Steak CEO special were both ordered rare which was confirmed twice by the manager but we were served medium steak. I showed the manager after I ordered but accepted because we were always treated brilliantly by the previous management and one mistake can be okay (a decision I now greatly regret since it's a rude owner now and new management and I will never be back here). Lisa, the new owner, extremely rude did not at first listen to a order I had placed with the manager in charge at the time where at that point of receiving the bill had gone home. According to her happy hour order can be shared which since day one of dining at Delforno we were told happy hour can never be shared which we were well aware of hence we ordered two specials! Lisa refused to acknowledge what had happened during the order and I asked how is it my fault as the customer that all my drinks were not brought to my table at once during happy hour. She made me pay for this inflated bill which was incorrect as per our order. I want a refund!!! Drinks were ordered during happy hour 2 x specials ordered during happy hour second set brought after happy hour and was charged full price for each drink!
