A lively busy little greek restaurant with a clean contemporary feel. Very busy and not taking reservations we were very lucky to secure a table for 4 people at 18h00 ... people were happy to wait for tables to turn. We had a delightful waitress, Bridget. For starters we ordered 4 mezes for the table to share - hummus loaded, with pomegranate, feta, red onion, pine kernels & chickpeas ; spanakopita (spinach & feta pies) ; fried halloumi ; zucchini fries and pita bread. All of the meze starters were very tasty ... but here's the thing ... The zucchini fries arrived long after the other 3 starters had been demolished ... the spanakopita and fried halloumi both only had 3 portions on the plate ... the menu doesn't specify how many of each item you were getting so we really shouldn't have been surprised when there wasn't a piece per person, but we were. Perhaps the restaurant could consider allowing you to pay extra per piece added? The hummus loaded whilst delicious was a relatively small portion and certainly not as generously loaded as their photos depict. For mains we ordered Skinny Lamb Chops, half kilo and the menu states 3-4 people ; Chicken Souvlaki - 2 skewers served with chips, pita bread, chopped tomato & red onion & your choice of a dip. We chose tzatziki ; Greek burger - mixed pork & beef patty with tomato & red onion & tzatziki & mayo on a fresh roll with chips. The main meals were all delicious! The 2 men shared the half kilo of lamb chops and laughed at the suggestion of it being enough for 3-4 people ... so we will just have to take there word for it that it was yummy! We were however allowed to dip our chips into the mustard type sauce that accompanied their chops and that is beyond yummy! The Souvlaki was a very nice meal and generous portion. For Desserts we ordered 2 portions of Halva Ice Cream ; Corrugated Baklava topped with mixed nuts, warm syrup & cinnamon ; and ouza. Whilst we enjoyed the desserts, we felt a bit shortchanged on the Halva Ice Cream, when what we got was in fact vanilla ice cream with Halva crumbled on top of it. I would have preferred just one scoop of intense icream that was made with Halva as the main ingredient ... or at worst an ice cream with big chunks of Halva as opposed to crumbled Halva that is crumbled so finely you can't really taste it. I didn't taste the Baklava, but the feedback was that whilst it was good it would possibly have been better to condense the pastry, syrup nuts and thereby intensify the flavour ... the syrup was a bit like toffee. Good selection of wines and drinks. We rounded off the evening with very good cappuccinos. The restaurant has only been open for a week and they were very busy and it was certainly a case of all hands on deck! All in all a really lovely evening and we will be back. Highly...
Read moreThis was my first time at the restaurant and I must say that I was really impressed. When you walk in there is waiter waiting for you to escort you to your table. The staff is very friendly and they have this level of calm that just makes one dine peaceful. Perhaps the most striking feature and most impressive according to me is the simplicity of the the menu. They have a 1 page menu with unique dishes and a separate menu for drinks. All the meal options were well explained and the staff members where readily available to assist. I had the pork pork chop which came with chips, it was one of the best pork chop I have ever tasted. It was lean with very little fat on it. One criticism I have though is that the chips were a bit too salty for my liking, but with that being said I am someone who rarely uses salt on food so my tolerance is quite low. They serve their food in rectangular metal plates, which I thought was very unique and a smart idea. The prices for the meals were reasonable and it is very affordable place to dine with your family or alone. They took approximately 15 minutes to prepare the food, so you don't have to too long. Another criticism I have is that I did not see a bathroom, although I did not ask if they have, the fact that it is not on the customer's view i was not pleased with. Also some of the table that were outside were a bit wet from the rain, I feel like effort should have been made to wipe the water. All in all I was pleased with the restaurant and I gave it 4/5. I think it is one the best in...
