It was Mum's birthday, so we decided to go to JD Cornubia on a Sunday. We were welcomed at the door and shown to our seats. We ordered the Sunday platter for four and a sailors platter for two. The food was enough for six people. **Food:** 3/5. To me, it wasn't the best; it was just good not great, and I believe they could improve on it. The prawns could have been more saucy, as they tasted a bit bland. However, the portion sizes were generous and fed all six of us. It would be great if they could introduce chicken into their larger platters. **Service:** 5/5. Service in a business is extremely important. Our waitress, whose name I didn’t catch, took good care of us. The food was brought out on time and served hot. There was a minor issue with the menu; they were out of queen prawns and planned to substitute six normal prawns for six queen prawns. We disagreed with that because, given the size difference, it should have been more to compensate. However, the manageress made a plan to provide us with extra prawns to make up for it. Would I go there again? Yes I would. For the price I believe it's affordable and value for money.

Served Raw Chicken—Absolutely Unacceptable! I am utterly appalled by my recent experience at John Dorrys. My daughter ordered the bao bun and was horrified to find that the chicken inside was completely raw. Serving raw poultry is a serious health hazard, and as a result, she suffered from food poisoning that ruined our holiday. When we brought this to the staff's attention, their only response was that they would "send their staff for training." This dismissive reaction is wholly inadequate given the severity of the situation. There was no offer of compensation for our medical expenses or acknowledgment of the distress caused. I strongly advise everyone to steer clear of this establishment. Food safety should be paramount, and it's evident that this restaurant does not prioritize the well-being of its customers. Such negligence is unacceptable and must be addressed immediately.

We normally pop in here for a plate of sushi before Bounce on the weekends. It's never been my favourite but the kids like the play area which is a nice one considering only 6 booths face the play area so you feel your kids are safe. Today we came for half price sushi and we got what we paid for.... half value sushi....burnt, cold tempura prawns which were inedible and a brown paste made up of prawns (apparently but could have been anything), avo (again could have been anything), and mayo topped on bean curd trying to imitation one of my all time favorites- bean curd maki.... don't go if you are a fussy sushian

Worst restaurant experience! I actually understand why that restaurant is always so quiet. From the time we entered to the point of exit it was just horrible. We chose to have a relaxed Easter morning and went to Cornubia JD after church as they were quiet. When we entered we just stood and waited for the someone to acknowledge us,the waiter was not friendly and also didn't know anything on the menu, couldn't assist us and had to call another waiter to help. The starter and Mains took forever to come to us but we watched it wait at the pick up station, another wait (the 3rd waiter) then brought the food to us cold.. We were so hungry that we just continued to eat. Whilst having main we had call the waiter and ask for the dessert menu, she advised that what we wanted is not in stock, we then requested from another waiter who's name was Elizabeth to please get us finger bowls as the washrooms were out of order and she bluntly said we don't have! At that point I had become totally irate as not even wipes could be given to us so I called for the manage and the bill, at that point I also gave my previous receipt for R2000 that I wanted to have loaded to my card, when the waiter returned with the bill she didn't load the receipt, she went back and returned with my receipt that was torned without the value, yasis I was totally annoyed , thereafter the manager came.. I didn't even have to explain my story to her as she advised she heard and watched what happened during our visit,I wonder why she couldn't intervene at that point.. she even advised that due to water shedding she had bought water to accommodate the customers and also had the dessert we wanted , she offered to cover the bill and find a way to load my card.. Worst experience ever and this totally explains why that restaurant was so quiet! Speaking to colleagues about my experience and finding out they have also had bad experience there so I hope this reaches someone that can actually make a difference at this branch to give excellent customer service and change our...

This establishment requires a serious change of management in every sense of the word!!! I unfortunately had to be polite and join my husband last night and several times prior because he’s an absolute prawn avalanche fan and takes advantage of the half price sushi Wednesday!! I say unfortunate due to the following factors

Every time in the past including last night when we arrived at the entrance there was always chaos with seating!!! The manager or hostesses at the entrance always seem to be confused about how to allocate seating according to first come first served!!! They don’t have a booking register to take down names of patrons in order as they arrive and we’ve found that this creates such chaos and frustration with patrons!!! Some have actually walked away!!! Last night was the worst ever!! There’s a group of waitresses standing in front while patrons are queuing but nobody’s interested in welcoming them and taking down names and how many seats are required, they’re just busy having a hearty chat! The family behind us were really annoyed and walked away! We also noticed that several four seater tables were allocated to just couples which if arranged properly could accommodate more people

The food was extremely disappointing!!! I didn’t learn from my last experience not to order grilled prawns on sushi night!! The prawns were stale mushy and powdery exactly as the last time and when I did complain to the manager she said it was overcooked I didn’t want to argue and refused for the order to be replaced with more prawns. I chose to nibble on sushi which can’t be faulted!!! Always fresh delicious and on point. However still not my preference for sushi as I have tasted way better sushi I definitely won’t be returning to John Dory, really...

How absolutely disgusting. If your staff did not notice the huge issue on hygiene and cleanliness at food establishments, then someone missed the bus. On the 2nd April - arrived at the establishment and was about to sit at a table. It had not been cleaned after the last customers had left. It took a while before ?Sanele arrived to clean the table. He collected the dirt from the table with his right hand and then proceeded to blot some spots with a dirty serviette in his other had. I asked him to show it to me and it was filthy - check you cameras. When asked if this was correct - you get that look! and he then proceeded to spray the table a few times and then used another serviette to wipe the table. Seriously - ONE serviette and a few sprays to sanitise a table you're now supposed to sit and eat at. You then get another look! I called for the manager - a Mr/s Khumalo arrives and with great disbelief in what her staff member had done listens to the narrative. She does not believe the serviette usage as not ?Sanele is using a yellow cloth and wiping the table. By now my family had walked out. Sanele was questioned about using the serviette and only capitulated when told the manager can check the cameras. This must be a new shorter method of practising unhygienic methods. People sit at these tables and eat. A filthy table that is not cleaned is a germ laden infestation - maybe do some swabs - I'm sure you do it as part of your audits. Your manager needs to pay attention in class when it comes to customer relation - check your camera. Our company will certainly not be returning to any of your ... Walked into Rocomamas - what a brilliant customer experience - maybe read their review. Your one star...
