KFC Sherwood — Restaurant in KwaZulu-Natal

This morning my partner and I decided to grab lunch at the above before we start with our day, we went through the drive-thru and a lady tended to us, we wanted to order 2 dunked crunch boxes however I asked if only 1 meal could be dunked and other not dunked, and she said it is not possible so I said it’s fine we will take both dunked, so we then drove to the paying attendant which was also a lady, we proceeded to pay and she then says that they can not dunk it so I proceeded to ask why and she then says she does not know she only works at the back 3 times not even bothered to find out why and I asked again why and she says she doesn’t know again and then asks if it is okay,so I replied to her saying do we have a choice,she did not respond and continued to do the payment ,we then go to receive our food which took 10 minutes while staff are screaming and speaking to each other while being less than 4 feet apart and ignoring us .

So this happened around 8:15 this morning and the store was not busy nor was the drive-thru,so I do not see : Why I waited 10 minutes to receive my food alone minus the time we ordered and paid aswell ? Why did the attendant that took our order tell me it is not possible to not dunk 1 meal but then when we go to pay get told that neither meals can be dunked ? Why the attendant that took our payment refused to even find why our meals could not be dunked but just stood there looking at our faces robotically ??? The store would have just opened and as I said was not busy,so how would the staff not know that they do not have the dunking sauce ? Not to mention the drive-thru is pathetic as there is not enough space to drive your vehicle from where you order to where you pay as there is such a large place that your tyre can fall into and when waiting for your food infront of your vehicle there is a large pothole covered with a rusted sheeting which doesn’t even cover the entire pothole.

I stopped buying ice cream from this branch a long time ago because the quality really dropped. It always seemed more watery than milky. But last night, I decided to try it again. I purchased 8 Soft Twirl Ice Creams. Once I got in the car, I could get a weird chemical smell like doom from the ice cream, which raised concern. With a mixture of smells inside the store, this one wasn't apparent. At this point, the kids had already tasted it, so I had to taste it too to make sure it was okay... and it was not. It tasted weird/different. The creaminess was there this time, but the taste wasn't. The aftertaste was even more sickening. Took it back inside, and the manager refunded us without any hassle as she, too, could get the smell. I'm not sure if some type of maintenance was going on, or if the staff were spraying doom in the kitchen or whether it was just the ice cream mixture. Not all KFCs are created equal, this one is definitely superior! Fast, fresh and friendly. Really didn't think I'd be hyping up a visit to KFC but with most of the KFCs around Durban being a poor experience, this one stands out by a long way. Crispy chicken, not oily (which is rare for something that's been deep fried), my box meal which included a burger was ready in less than 5 mins which is almost unbelievable, the staff member even came to ask how my meal was going then returned to prevent me from cleaning up my table, which she did promptly with a smile. Amazing really, will go back there if ever I'm in the area and hungry, I'll also try stick to my policy of not eating KFC elsewhere in a hurry for fear of getting the exact opposite of the above, something I'm sure almost every person reading this has...
