Overall, the venue is very good. Don't expect a 5 star table side fine dining experience. However the value for money is superb. Portions are huge and enough to feed two people. Chowmein - 6/10 Kungpao chicken - 5/10 Sweet and sour - 7/10 All sushi - 7/10 with the exclusion of anything tuna, and the towers which is horrid. All starters - 3/10 Alcohol is solid at the venue and overall is safe spot for families or for a quick take out. Staff is great everytime I've visited, very friendly, takes good care of you and are eager to have a conversation with you, explain the meals and how they are presented. I'd give Sakura a solid 5.5/10 Cons : Venue can be better, it's abit dull Outside seating needs lighting Chilli needs to be included in the meals when asked for and not added to the side Slips needs to have a tab for tips ( the waiters deserve it) Beggars needs to be controlled to stop meals from being interrupted Prawns are generally over cooked, bland and very small. Kungpao chicken is too tangy and overpowers the entire dish Sizzling hot plates are far too small and a nightmare to construct & eat.

I've heard so much about this place and decided to give it a try and I am truly disappointed. The staff are too relaxed, busy on cellphones, total disregard as to how masks should be worn...helpful though. The food lacked flavour, imagine buying a meal taking it home and having to revive it... Adding salt, soya sauce and green chillie still didnt help. The rice...omg...what's going on here...why doesnt it take like sushi rice normally does? It was hard to chew yet clumped...go figure how you allow for sushi and rice dishes to be served with an awful batch of rice. Personally I would have cut my losses and made a new batch of sushi rice to avoid a mess up of the entire days meals. Took pics of the food at home but couldnt enjoy or finish our meals... You've lost my vote Sakura :(

It’s an interesting place. Staff members are very helpful and friendly. Prices are excellent though when it comes to the sushi, I’d rather pay more so that I can have a proper ratio of meat to rice. I also found the sushi rice to have a really stodgy texture which was a bit strange. I understand it’s generally stodgy but this was just a bit too much. Perhaps it was overcooked and lacked rice vinegar. The other dishes that were ordered were amazing and super tasty. I really enjoyed the prawn tempura. We sat in the smoking area which is outdoors and uncovered. It makes you feel exposed to the streets. So in all honesty, I didn’t feel 100% safe especially because it was dark and I’m unfamiliar to the area. Otherwise, I’d like to come back but probably when it’s during the day.

Road side parking is difficult to find, so the only alternative is to park on the main road and walk up to this store. Initially we had to ask for assistance for seating as the staff were engaged in their own conversation. After choosing a place, I had to go to the counter to ask for menus as the staff were still busy with their own things.

Only after inquiring did somebody come to clean the table and give us menus. The waiter was friendly and well informed. We didn't have to wait long until the sushi and fried was served, which was fantastic. However the waiter seemed to forget about the child's food (fried dumplings) and went off to the men's toilet where he remained for 20+ minutes. When going to search for somebody help with the dumplings, everybody was caught up in conversation and when going to the men's, we found our waiter chatting up a girl.

When he finally did come back, we asked and he then mentioned that the dumplings are made from scratch and takes a long time to prep. This was only ready after the meal was finished and paid for as we were getting up to leave.

This branch may be good at making these meals but they just miss that spark and courtesy that the...

If you're looking for delicious vegetarian sushi and chow mein, Sakura Durban North is the place to go. This restaurant is simply amazing, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

As vegetarians, my family and I only stick to their vegetarian dishes, and let me tell you, they are absolutely fantastic. The sushi is always fresh and flavorful, and the chow mein is hands down the best I've ever had. The vegetables are always perfectly cooked, and the sauces are just amazing. We tend to go there very often, and we're always impressed with the quality of the food.

The restaurant itself is really nice, too. It's clean, modern, and has a great atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they're happy to help you with anything you need. They have a great selection of vegetarian dishes to choose from, so you're sure to find something you'll love.

Overall, I have to say that Sakura Durban North is simply the best. If you're a vegetarian and you're looking for delicious sushi and chow mein, this is the place to go. The food is outstanding, the restaurant is great, and the staff is fantastic. So go ahead and check them out, you won't be...
