The only good thing about about my recent experience at Spur Chatsworth was the mushroom starter & waiters good service. Everything else was horrible & disgusting like the smell of their toilets into the dining seating area & main meals! As soon as our main meals were served(2 x rib burger meals),we got a horrible stench of a dirty toilet. We were not far off from the toilet. Over 20 mins we got this stench 3 times until we could not take it anymore & called the manager. He apologised went to check & came back to advise the lady had just cleaned the toilet & apologised again. Whether just cleaned or not your toilet should not smell like this at a restaurant! Extremely disgusting & unhygienic for the smell to travel into the dining area!? Do you people have no standard, rules or regulation?! What is the condition of your toilets for it to smell that way?Makes one wonder what the kitchen is like because even tables were sticky! On to the food. We have frequented this branch even when it was haalal & never had an issue with the food. The mushroom starter was the only thing that was good. The mains were horrible & tasteless.Rib burgers were dry & chewy No barbeque sauce on rib patty & not enough sauce on burgers as well(the 1000 island that served on top). The cheese sauce (ordered as a extra)tasted like a powdery packet sauce & looked like custard! Not Cheese sauce, horrible! The hot veg (side) was not even edible! Creamed spinach is no longer creamed spinach & had no cream or feta(whatever is usually used) was green & dry! Butternut was saltless& the macaroni that is now served is not edible either just hard & chewy) Spur Chastworth up your game! The food does not tastle like spur at all! Never visiting this...

Read moreVisited last week Monday for breakfast food was underwhelming portions are really small compared to other Spur branches around durban.... Second chance this Monday decided to go for lunch ordered two 300gram steak 1 rump and 1 sirloin as soon as that steak hit the table I knew that wasn't a 300gram steak I don't think it was even 200grams spoke to the waiter he insisted that it was a 300gram i called the manager over to complain about the chips that where definetly refried and asked her does this steak look like a 300gram steak to you she said "looks abit thin for 300gram" I told her it's definetly not a 300gram steak... She did get me a bowl of freshly fried chips and she did top up the steak another two thicker pieces of steak one rump one sirloin. The fact is when you order a 200/300/500gram steak you want what you pay for a full piece of steak. I asked the manager If there was mistake in the kitchen regarding my steak she said "they don't know themselves".... We visit this place often for family gatherings your standards have...
