Mugg & Bean — Restaurant in Mbombela

Probably the best Mugg & Bean establishment I have ever had the pleasure to visit. I was met by a very friendly server at the door and upon asking for a table with a power socket she stated that they were all taken. Then she made a plan to have me seated close to another one and asked it would be acceptable to use that one. In the end a wonderful solution to the problem. The selection of food available was very diverse and catered for all types of customers. My Cafe Latte which I ordered arrived fast and steaming hot. The server was able to attend to me throughout the meal without making me feel over crowded and was highly knowledgeable about the menu. I asked for a suggestion for something hot and sweet to round off the meal and she brought me something that was perfect and new. This is extremely rare that a server will make a suggestion with confidence and even more so that I enjoy the item they bring. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. I ordered the sweetcorn fritter snack -as I have done before- but what I received was a dish th was so smothered in chilly powder that I couldn't eat it. My wife that are much more tolerant to hot food, tried it and even she couldn't finish it. We requested to see the manager and a lady arrived that tried to convince me that it is made according to the recipe. Nowhere on the description was the words hot, spicy or chilly used and she left with sorry, sorry but that is it. My wife wrote a long comment on the bill which the waitress took. Minutes later another person -this time with the title Manager on her name tag- came and we had to repeat the whole complaint again. She resdeamed herself and the restaurant by removing the item from the bill. WHY IS IT NECCESARY TO SEE TWO 'MANAGERS' WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT? WHAT HAPPENED TO SERVICE EXCELENCE? WHY CHANGE A PERFECTLY FINE DISH AND THEN TRY AND CONVINCE THE CUSTOMER THAT IT HAS ALWAYS...

My friend and I normally order a Chicken mayo toastie at Mugg & Bean in Riverside Mall. We went to Ilang Mall today (10 Aug 2020) and we diced for a change we are going to order a Toasted Ham, cheese and tomato toasted sandwich with rosemary fries too share because normally these toasties at Riverside is so big and 2 easy Cappucinos. When we received our order the bread wasn't buttered, we had to look for the cheese and ham. There was not even a dessert spoon full of cheese on the whole toastie, and the cheese wasn't melted.
