Jayz Grill — Restaurant in Msunduzi Local Municipality

I’ve been to this establishment multiple times and I always have complaints. I’ve tried to order different menu items with hopes of improvement (I kept going back because who doesn’t like a cheap dining out experience). The portion sizes are really generous and reasonably priced but this cannot be at the expense of food health and safety. On four different occasions:

1. my steak was delicious but it gave me a runny tummy. In fact, don’t order steak on steak day, you’ll probably get sick.
2. the rib meat was flaky and looked greyish (drowned out with sauce and charred of course)
3. the wings are preboiled and doused in sauce
4. the prawns gave me a food poisoning which lasted a few days.
5. their mojitos taste like toothpaste and rum. Why would you put mint syrup in a mojito???

Honestly guys, would it hurt to serve fresh food? The tables are always dirty, I suggest carrying wet wipes to wipe down your table before using it. The toddler chairs they have are FILTHY, don’t put your child in there! Jayz needs some real improvement or...

Went to Jay Z on Friday night and had the worst experience ever! I had ordered the vegetarian platter for obvious reasons, this platter consisted of carrots, spinach and butternut, the carrots were clearly gone bad, when I had approached the manager, he had played down the situation and said that the carrots were probably overly cooked! My platter was then taken to the kitchen and the carrots removed and the plate merely wiped off which I found disgusting as the carrots did contaminate the spinach a bit and had an off stench. The manager just played down the situation, absolutely no remorse was shown. Worst part of that night was that the manager thought it was completely fine to eat contaminated food!! Absolutely disgusting, will never go back to this...

Horrified by how much the standard of this place has declined. Had dinner with some friends at Jayz last night. The mains were less than tasty, the cocktails had a funny after taste, the waffles were stale with cheap-tasting ice-cream and "bar one sauce". None of us managed to get through our meals because of how subpar they were. Worst of all, 4 out of 5 of the people in our party have woken up with food poisoning this morning - diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, the works. Such a pity as this used to be a great restaurant with great food but they are now obviously skimping out on or perhaps even...
