Extremely Disappointed – Will Not Return

My husband and I had a deeply uncomfortable experience at this restaurant and bar. Shortly after being seated, our waitress asked us to either hand in our car key or credit card as “security” to ensure we would pay our bill ,apparently because they’ve had past incidents of customers walking out without paying.

We’ve dined at countless restaurants and bars across Cape Town and have never been treated in such a way. It felt awkward, humiliating, and frankly, like we were being profiled. What made it worse was noticing that not everyone else in the venue was subjected to this same request.

I’m left questioning whether it was the color of our skin or something else that led to us being singled out. Regardless of the reason, this kind of treatment is unacceptable. Hospitality should make guests feel welcome and valued not suspicious or unwelcome.

Needless to say, we will not be returning, and I would caution others who value dignity and respect to think twice...

Please get someone else playing the music.! Justin is not only playing terrible music which is chasing customers away, he is also arrogant and rude! Numerous customers asked him last Saturday (after the rwc win) to play other music/songs. The response you got from him, was a rude and insulting attitude! Arrogant and zero accomodating with customer requests! Very, very bad! You guys have a very nice place. Please get a nice person who is able to play nice and good music who smiles at customers and does not shout at...

We had a farewell for a friend in here. They don't charge to hire out the venue for a function. Cozy vibe, limited selection of things to buy (no food), but it makes up for that in friendly service and character.

I later had my farewell here and really saw this place come alive. Organising things with the staff was easy and everyone had an awesome time! We played our own music, and the man in charge have me a drink on the house since I was leaving. The staff really felt like...
