I’m not prone to writing bad reviews. As a business owner, I appreciate when an issue is brought to my attention and I am given the opportunity to deal directly with a negative encounter. So I reached out to the manager of the Delaire Graff Restaurant to let him know that my brother-in-law and I were served a lunch that caused us both a food borne illness. The only meal that the two of us had in common that day was at this restaurant and we both commented that the mussels tasted “funny”. We arrived at the end of the lunch shift and I believe that the food was not properly stored toward the end of the day. I had an intense digestive reaction within two hours and my BIL within four. I was sick for nine days, he for two. We both had the classic symptoms of food poisoning. I won’t list them here to spare you, the reader.

I sent a very respectful and confidential letter to Mr Ahrendse, the restaurant manager and his dismissive reply was basically, “we take every precaution”. I felt unresolved that there was no apology for ruining my vacation and he simply pushed back to the standards they set. How arrogant and unresponsive. The cool, beautiful winter weather, combined with the clear blue skies, created a picturesque setting. The service I received was exceptional, worthy of white glove treatment. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure a truly remarkable experience.
