오현불백 — Restaurant in Jeju

Came to this restaurant by chance after a long day visiting several UNESCO sites on the Island. The menu is super simple but all in Korean, so we were a bit lost after getting seated. Fortunately the owner was super friendly and explained everything to us and even humored us when we asked to order one order of the squid and octopus with pork (we were only supposed to order one main per pot). 😅 After we ordered, all the banchans came out, and they were great! When the main dish came out, it was presented beautifully, and once cooked at the table side, it was delicious. Throughout the meal the owner kept checking in on us and offered us refill on all he banchans that we finished. Half way through our meal, he came and told us not to finish our rice because he was going to make another rice dish for us. The last dish he made for us was great and to finish it all off, there is a coffee machine by the door that offers free coffee. All in all, this was a great find! We enjoyed the market and started walking around town. We smelled this restaurant and had to stop in. The service was very friendly and the food was fast. We ordered the bulgogi hot pot, large. It could have fed 5+ people! Absolutely DELICIOUS!

Also tried stingray and it was surprisingly good too! We were kindly offered complimentary coffee on the way out and the server/owner was very kind to take time to talk to us throughout our visit through Google chat.

That was fun! Google translate was needed, buy had a good time. Daughter and I shared some pork bulgogi/BBQ. A couple sides of rice and kimchi. We were very clueless and the staff were very helpful.

Food was good. Good flavor, plenty of sides, good quantity and quality.
