Donkey and I were really looking forward to exploring the Jeju Jungang Underground Shopping Centre, a modern underground shopping arcade in downtown Jeju City. It sounded like a great place to find unique items and local goods.
Unfortunately, we had rented a car to explore Jeju and were having a hard time finding parking near the shopping centre. With our time limited, we decided to skip the shopping centre and head to other planned activities.
While we didn't get to experience the shopping centre ourselves, we were impressed by the descriptions we read and heard. It has a wide variety of stores offering everything from clothing and shoes to accessories and even flowers. It also has restaurants and rest lounges, making it a convenient and enjoyable place to spend some time.

Read moreUnderground shopping centres are great. Whatever the weather outside, these places are an oasis of calm where you can indulge in retail therapy, dine, and just hang out until it's nice out. It's not an especially big shopping centre but there's enough to sustain your interest for a good hour at least. Most are garment shops but there are convenience shops, places selling bags, knicknacks, cosmetics, and more. And when you get tired of shopping there are clutch of places to eat and they offer a surprising range of food and drink.
