Gamseongdon — Restaurant in Jeju

We were at Hyeopjae beach, swimming and surfing, and after all that we got pretty hungry. We love Korean BBQ, so we looked for something nearby and found Gamseongdon. It was lunchtime but surprisingly the place was empty. Maybe because it was off season in September. The server showed us to a table and brought the charcoal, and right then we knew it was going to be good.

All the meat here is pork. Then suddenly an older woman, who felt like a mother figure running the kitchen, came out and guided us. She rolled in all the food on a little cart (the typical sides like onions, salad, kimchi) and the pork as a whole piece. She asked if it was okay for her to cook for us, and we agreed. She grilled it, cut it up into pieces, and basically fed us haha. We loved it. After she cooked the meat she left so we could enjoy the food.

I’m usually not a big fan of pork, but this was the first time in my life I truly enjoyed it. We also had the cold noodles, which were really fresh with nicely cut vegetables, and I definitely recommend ordering the mushrooms too.
