We had a very rough start. Their website is bilingual except the booking website, where it is all in Korean. Had to call the hotel and a gentleman who answered the phone quoted the room rates incorrectly. Thereafter the hotel kept saying that the hotel was fully booked and couldn't confirm our reservation. Finally, when we showed that we were prepared to change our arrival dates, the manager of the property had no choice, and confirmed our reservation. For future guest know that weekdays @ KRW 250,000 and weekends @ KRW 290,000. Best to get a friend who is Korean literate to help! :-)||||The hotel's telephone number isn't located in our rental car company (Lotte Rental)'s GPS system, and when Lotte Rental Car's guy did our orientation of the car, we asked him to find the hotel in the GPS system using the hotel's address but he couldn't and programmed to the nearest point and set us off (see my other posting Lotte Car Rental), and we had to find way to the hotel with my limited Korean vocabulary. Luck was on our side that day and we managed.||||The hotel is beautiful - and the hotel rooms are built and designed to capture the amazing scenic views - see photos below. The hotel rooms capture the sunrise vistas over the Yongmeori coast whilst standing along the hotel corridors, you get the "to die for" sunset scenes. ||||The hotel room space is generous, has a full size fridge, a sunken bath that has views over the ocean, and the most comfortable bed that one can see the tide come in and out when lying in bed! ||||The property provides quality amenities, e.g. Aromatherapy Associates bath and shower supplies, Ronnefeldt teabags, quality bedlinen and complimentary bottles of juices in the room fridge. Our room was clean and tidied daily and well with supplies replenished.||||There are a couple of drawbacks with the hotel. It is clearly not designed for non Korean literate guests. We were not sure if it was because it was low season when we visited, but we only saw a handful of staff - a manager, a cleaning lady and a old man cleaning and tending to the hotel grounds. Unfortunately the hotel manager speaks limited English and he doesn't have fixed hours. (He sometimes went off at 3pm) Thus if there was an emergency during the evening/night hours - guests that are not fluent in Korean would have a problem.||||The hotel is located in a picturesque location, very quiet and local. A couple of neighbouring houses belong to fishermen and their families. Not much activity around the hotel in the evening hours. There are a handful of restaurants, doing grilled fish, Sashimi and BBQ Black Pork restaurants around the hotel. The hotel also has a restaurant serving Italian and Thai dishes.||||This hotel is highly recommended if you want a relaxing holiday. Not much night life in terms of bars, etc during off season. But the people around the area are friendly and will try to understand tourists who don't speak Korean. If you intend to drive to Jungmun area, it is around 30 kms away or would take you around 40 mins.||||For future guests driving to this hotel - enter the telephone numbers of either Marado Submarine, Sanbangsan or shipwreck Hamel's Monument. The hotel is situated between Marado Submarine and Sanbangsan or Hamel's Monument.||||For travelers who aren't driving there is a bus stop (Sanbangsan, Sagye Yonghae Hall) around 100m from the hotel with 2 bus routes, see...

Read moreWe were back to our favourite hotel in Jeju last week, but it was a let down. Somehow between our first visit in 2017 and November 2024, the hotel has run down a lot, perhaps during/because of Covid? But you can see signs of lack of care & maintenance to the property, like the bathrooms shower heads, the rust certain parts of the items placed, etc. ||I had a distinct feeling that the original owner might have sold the property to another owner. Where the reception was, is now an architectural firm (the original owner is an architect) and the hotel check-in area has moved to the restaurant, with no proper check-in area.||The Manager on Duty (on 12 November) tried to refuse to issue us a 2nd door access card, and when I insisted saying we have 2 cars, he relented, but I realised that they have only programmed 2 key cards per room. Generally, these key cards are inexpensive and part of business costs. So, I assume this is the cost cutting effort of the hotel.||There are 2 "Managers" and depending on who you meet, your experience at the hotel may be different. I had a smaller built manager who had very limited English who asked me on the 2nd day, IF we wanted our rooms CLEANED!! That was a shocker!||The option was "Have your room cleaned or just have new towels & water replaced" I thought, perhaps we could live with "Just towels & water replaced" option, given that we were only there couple of hours the evening before||But to my surprise - the fresh towels & water bottles where placed in a plastic box, left at the door front and the room was not even tidied up, waste baskets were not even emptied! This is taking "refresh" room a tad too far.||The other nicer manager (taller chap) however asked what time are they able to enter the room to clean, which is far more acceptable that the other manager.||Western breakfast option seems more substantial than before, but like the other reviewer's sentiment, the items on the tray are at best tepidly warm||The property still has the best location, but it is unfortunate that the property has not been maintained properly. ||Not sure if we would...
