명인만두 내방역점 — Restaurant in Seoul

I stopped by the Naebang branch of Myeongin Mandu on my way back from the tax office, hoping to revisit a good memory of their mandu and naengmyeon. I ordered the half meat / half kimchi mandu set along with bibim naengmyeon.

Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, there seemed to be some kind of argument between the owner and staff regarding the payment kiosk. The tension was visible, and the staff serving the dining area looked visibly displeased, which affected the atmosphere and service quality.

The bibim naengmyeon tasted overwhelmingly of artificial seasoning — more like something mass-produced than freshly made. The mandu were just okay in flavor, but noticeably dry and tough, especially the meat dumplings, which had hardened areas as if they had been sitting out too long. The kimchi mandu had a “factory-made” flavor reminiscent of commercial-style “gungjung (royal court)” dumplings — not terrible, but far from homemade.

What truly left a negative impression was what happened near the end of my meal. As local tax office workers began filling the place for an early lunch, I was still chewing my final dumpling and sending an urgent email from my laptop. A staff member approached with a stiff expression and asked me to leave quickly — despite the fact I had clearly not finished and only needed five more minutes. I hadn’t even swallowed the last bite.

It would’ve made a world of difference if they had shown just a bit more understanding and care. Hopefully, they can improve their customer service and attention to detail...

워낙 유명한 명인만두 체인점입니다. 직원 아주머니분들 친절하시고 음식도 빠르게 나옵니다. 만두는 유명한 그만두!! 초기만큼 엄청 맛있는 수준은 아니지만 준수합니다. 떡만두국의 양이 거의 세숫대야만큼 엄청납니다. 라볶이는 조금 아쉽네요. 양념이 스며들지 않은 느낌... 떡 따로 면 따로 양념따로... 그래도 그럭저럭 맛있는 식당입니다. 아, 간단히 먹는것치고 가격이 조금 아쉽긴합니다..이건 뭐...

제가 방배동에서 일하는데 저녁에 출근할때 마다 김밥이나 만두 식사류 같은 음식을 주문하곤 했는데 여기 명인만두에 왕사발 비빔밤을 맛있게 먹었는데 비빔밥 최고로 맛있어요. 식사 대용으로 가능하구요. 감자수제비하고 새로 나온...
