During my visit to Seoul, I had the pleasure of dining at Bon Juk & Bibimbap Cafe Sinsa, and it was an absolute delight for both my taste buds and senses. This cosy and inviting café offers a unique twist on traditional Korean cuisine, and I couldn't have asked for a more satisfying dining experience.

First and foremost, the ambience of the café is warm and welcoming. The contemporary yet comfortable interior design creates a relaxed and cosy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The attentive and friendly staff adds to the overall positive experience, providing excellent service and ensuring that every customer is well taken care of.

Now, let's talk about the food—the star of the show! The menu at Bon Juk & Bibimbap Cafe Sinsa offers a wonderful fusion of traditional Korean flavours and modern culinary concepts. Their signature dishes, such as the juk (Korean rice porridge) and bibimbap (mixed rice bowl), are crafted with great attention to detail, resulting in a symphony of flavors that truly showcase the essence of Korean cuisine.

The juk at Bon Juk & Bibimbap Cafe Sinsa is a standout. It is prepared using high-quality ingredients, and the combination of textures and flavours is simply divine. From the classic abalone juk to the flavorful seafood and mushroom juk, each bowl is a comforting and nourishing experience that warms the soul. The portion sizes are generous, making it a satisfying meal option for any time of the day.

The bibimbap options are equally impressive. The café offers a variety of toppings and sauces to customize your bibimbap according to your preferences. Whether you're a vegetarian, a meat lover, or have specific dietary restrictions, you'll find ample choices to create your perfect bowl. The ingredients are fresh and beautifully presented, and the flavours harmonize perfectly to create a mouthwatering experience.

Beyond their signature dishes, the café also offers a selection of appetizers, side dishes, and beverages to complement your meal. The range of options allows you to explore different flavours and textures, enhancing the overall dining experience.

I was also pleased with the reasonable prices at Bon Juk & Bibimbap Cafe Sinsa, considering the quality and portion sizes they offer. The value for money is exceptional, making it an excellent choice for both locals and tourists seeking an authentic taste of Korean cuisine.

In conclusion, Bon Juk & Bibimbap Cafe Sinsa is a hidden gem in Seoul's culinary scene. The combination of cosy ambience, attentive service, and delectable food make it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Korean cuisine with a modern twist. Whether you're a fan of juk, bibimbap, or simply looking for a comforting and flavorful meal, this café is sure to leave a lasting impression. I highly recommend paying a visit and savouring the culinary delights they...

Gonre - thistle bibimbap with pork bulgogi - 4 stars Not the healthiest as there's a lot of sesame oil and it's very flavourful, but delicious. Their pork bulgogi was better than the beef.

Brown rice porridge with beef bulgogi and roasted garlic (15,000 krw) - 3.75 stars Porridge is bland but goes well with the banchan. A nice healthier option.

+++

Finally, a place we could top up 1,000 won to get oat and barley added to our rice (a multigrain rice). Very tasty! Planning to go back for dinner.

Spicy seafood stew - 4 stars I asked to have this less spicy but still had to add water. Tasty! Had scallops and clams too.

Gonre? Looks like thistle or some local veg - 4 stars So tasty. Came with a really good pork on top (even though on the menu it looked like mushrooms). Can't get this with oat and barley...

Bon Juk & Bibimbap Cafe Sinsa, Gangnam 본죽 & 비빔밥 카페 신사, 강남

Meal budget per person (without drinks) Category 1 (under 60000 KRW, 50 USD)

It has a weakness of not having a parking lot, but it is a restaurant with a friendly staff and good value for the money.

Pine nut porridge has a savory and light taste.

Dongji red bean porridge has a healthy taste.

Along with many other porridge menu, there are many bibimbap. It tastes normal, but the amount is geneous.

This restaurant offers takeout or food to go, so it is recommended especially when someone is...

The food was amazing, very hole-in-the wall which I loved. The chefs were elder and very adorable and treated us some very tasty hot pots and bibimbap bowls. Ordering was very easy, just tap your language and order on the kiosk. Just a tip, the restaurant is on the 2nd floor and a bit difficult to spot if you can’t read Korean. The prices are great, and the portions are perfect. Everything tasted authentic and very homemade. A true gem in the neighborhood.
