Delightful but Light-Flavored Experience at Korea Ginseng Chicken Soup
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Korea Ginseng Chicken Soup, renowned for its traditional Korean delicacies. The restaurant offers an exquisite range of dishes, with their ginseng chicken soup being the highlight. They also have a luxurious version featuring abalone, adding a unique twist to the classic dish.
The ginseng chicken soup, steeped in a delicate broth, was a delightful experience. The chicken was tender and perfectly complemented by the subtle yet distinct flavour of ginseng. The addition of abalone in the luxury version added a layer of sophistication to the dish, making it a must-try for those seeking a more indulgent option.
A standout item on the menu was the fried ginseng. It's a dish that shouldn't be missed, offering a crispy texture and an enhanced ginseng flavour that was both unique and satisfying.
However, it's worth noting that the overall flavour profile of the dishes leans towards the lighter side. While this allows the natural and healthful qualities of ginseng to shine through, it may not cater to those who prefer a more robust and intense taste in their meals.
In conclusion, Korea Ginseng Chicken Soup offers a great dining experience with its authentic and health-focused menu. While the flavours are more on the subtle side, the quality of the ingredients and the care in preparation make it a worthwhile visit for those appreciating a...
Read moreContemplated very long if I should try this Michelin Samgyetang. I haven't heard reviews of people visiting Korea trying this but the other touristy one, but I still decided to come over and try it myself. I looked at the price and it looks little more expensive than normal shops, but I decided to try something different which is to order the black chicken rather than the normal one. I also decided to add an additional abalone since the price difference is only 6000 won. Service was very prompt and food was served rather quickly. It was quite empty when I was there only about 3-4 tables full but within 20 mins the entire restaurant was packed. I have to say I really like the soup! It was very good, and I am not sure if it has anything to do with the black chicken and the abalone, the soup tasted more flavourful then the previous places I have tried. It was really delicious and the glutinous rice inside the chicken was so perfectly cooked I finished every bit of it. I enjoyed the radish kimchi as well, don't know if the cabbage one same from the same kimchi variant but it was kinda too spicy for me. Looks different because the chili paste looks thicker and coarser to me. Really enjoyable and satisfying bowl of Samgyetang...
Read moreNo trip to Seoul is complete until you have a Ginseng Chicken soup…. We avoided the other very touristy place and opted for this one, and we didn’t regret it!
We didn’t need to wait for a table, as it was after the lunch rush. The staff here are used to tourists and are very friendly. Their rule is 1 dish per person. Order 2 regular ginseng chicken, 1 abalone porridge and 1 fried chicken.
Pretty much after ordering, the banchan came. We were blown away by the food, the broth is so clean tasting, chicken was fall off the bone. Our favourite part was the glutinous rice stuffed inside the cavity.
The congee was bland but it’s meant to be, you can add your own seasonings, the consistency is amazing! A definite comfort food and would be appreciated even more during the cold winter months.
Would definitely recommend, next time I come back to Seoul I’ll try the black chicken ginseng
If I’m honest I wouldn’t order the fried whole chicken again, it...
