Olive Young — Local services in Seoul

Realised I forgot my passport during payment, was apologetic and asked the staff if it’s possible for me to keep my basket behind the counter while I run back to the hotel which is 5mins walk away to grab my passport and come back to pay. She (with a nametag “Captain”) replied “no” with an annoyed, cocky tone and body language, threw my basket, consisting of the items I was going to purchase, on the floor behind the counter. The more I thought about it, the angrier I got while rushing back to the store. What did I do to deserve this kind of rude attitude from the staff when I was never rude to her? I had remained polite and even smiled while speaking to her the whole time. Is this just because I’m a tourist?

When I went back to the store, her colleague recognised me and rushed to stop her - apparently she was already placing my items back on the shelf.

The situation was only made better when I brought the matter up to the manager. The manager and another lady with the nametag “Trainer” apologised profusely and I could really tell how sorry they were from their expression and body language. They spoke in Korean to the “Captain” and she said sorry with a straight face. Once. What a stark difference. I kept telling them they were not the ones who should be sorry even if it’s on her behalf, instead the “Captain” should be.

This “Captain” shouldn’t be working in the retail and service line if she’s unhappy and always showing attitude...

明洞の旗艦店は混雑しすぎてゆっくり見れない、品切れも多いため こちらの店舗に来てみたが、人気商品は一通り揃ってて 気づいたら2時間以上見てしまいました笑笑

店員さんもショタピングバッグを配ったり、 質問した時丁寧に商品一緒に探してくれました！

※化粧品は種類が最低限で少ないかもしれません スキンケア用品などは充分すぎるぐらいの品揃えでした
