My mom and I love trying out pastries whenever we travel. We decided to give this place a try when we passed by it. We tried Jayeondo Salt Bread in Seongsu (they also have a branch in Ikseondong with seats but lines are longer). We got there around 11AM and the lines weren’t long yet, yay! First, we queue to order in the machine and pay via card. Then we queue again to pick up our orders. They only sell 1 item- a pack of 4 for salt breads for 12,000won. When we were queueing to pick up, we saw some customers in line also to order to pay cash. So for those who don’t want to pay using credit card, they have cash options as well. We didn’t eat them right away but when we ate it the next day it was still soooo good and chewy! Imagine eating them fresh. They are so crispy when you bite onto it and you can taste the perfect balance of salt and butter. Plus, the packaging was so cute!! 🤎

Jayeondo Sogeumppang is a delightful spot for those who appreciate unique and flavorful Korean street food. Specializing in sogeumppang, a type of savory or sweet filled pastry, this eatery offers a variety of options that cater to different taste preferences. The pastries are freshly baked, with a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior, filled with ingredients such as cheese, red bean, or vegetables. Each bite is a perfect balance of textures and flavors, making it a satisfying snack or light meal. The cozy and casual atmosphere of the shop makes it a great place to grab a quick bite or enjoy a leisurely treat. The friendly staff and affordable prices add to the overall positive experience. Whether you're a local or a tourist, Jayeondo Sogeumppang is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in some delicious and authentic Korean street food.

1 star for me; here why; 1. Will I buy a second time? [No] 2. Will I recommend to close friends? [No] 3. Can a better alternative be found in 711 ? [Yes] 4. Was there a specific negative factor? [Yes - [Only force us to buy in 4 pieces, instead of 1 or 2] — Just a normal bread, not worth, nothing special just online marketing. Nothing inside, no cream , just a simple bread and salt above it. 😓 I would have given 2 stars if can just buy 1, but they only force us to buy 4 (as an only option set) thus, 1 star for this. - I was lucky (wait 5 mins on q only, around 5 pm) , if I had to wait any longer than that like 30 mins, this is totally a waste. - payment is fast (simply put your credit card) - No idea why pp gives 5 stars ? Probably they never eat other yummy bread 😅

This place sells just one item, and it always has a queue. However, the queue clears very fast with its efficient ordering, queuing, and collection logistics. It is a simple salt bread which sells for KRW12,000 for 4, which is on the pricier side. Describing it as simple would be an understatement for some, because greatness is all the simple things done right. Many would have known what a shio pan is, and would have tried it from many places. A hybrid of croissant and a bread, a combination of crusty exterior and chewy interior. I suppose it is baked on the spot, and I would recommend eating right away while still warm. Subtle savouriness from the salt, aromatic scent from the butteriness, and putting your teeth to a gentle workout while you continue shopping along Seongsu shopping street - great snack during any season. Tried this place while in Korea twice this year, and have always bought extra as our breakfast the following morning. No complains as it is what a good salt bread is...
