Jogae Changgo (Shellfish Warehouse) — Restaurant in Seoul

This restaurant is unacceptable! I would I have put no star but I can't write a review otherwise. Something very bad happened to me in that restaurant. I came on holiday with my family for 2 weeks in Korea so we decided to eat in this seafood restaurant. I was cooking and then all of a sudden, hot boiling water just fell on my leg from the hot tank under the table. It was a crisis, we had to go to the emergency room and it was a second degree burn. I can tell that one moment ruined my whole holiday. I do NOT recommend this restaurant. I didn't even get an apology. We didn't even get to eat a bite because it happened at the beginning but we still had to pay 100€. Not even a discount. Anyways, if you want to burn yourself, you found yourself the...

This restaurant is a complete hazard. Go there at your own risk! We went there for a nice evening but, in this restaurant, safety is obviously the last of their concerns. After a few minutes of getting the table grill started, boiling water came through the grill that wasn't secured. My daughter was badly injured and we went straight from that restaurant to the emergency room where she got treated for what turned out to be a serious secondary burn wound on her leg. When we left the restaurant in a panic mode, there was no apology nor any sympathy from the staff who insisted we had to pay for the meal - that we did not even have - since we had sat at the table for a few minutes.

Obviously doesn't deserve the one star I had to put in order...

This place was pretty hard to find as there’s not much signage to see at night but once you enter (it’s inside a building then walk down the stairs), you’ll be welcomed by the smell of grilled seafood! You have two choices - either grill or hotpot. We went with grilled. There was plenty of seafood available, we especially the large clams and abalone, which were delicious! There was pork and beef but we didn’t each much of those. Plenty of sides were available (but rice and ramen were extra - we preferred to eat more seafood!). Drinks is self serve, then leave them in the basket to pay at the end. Yes, it’s a bit smoky but the food was great. Even with the recent price increase, I feel it’s still excellent...
