An ‘Can-not-be-missed’ Starbucks Experience in Seoul! The road to get there is lined with market stalls, adds a sense of adventure as you traverse a lively market, enhancing the feeling of exploration and surprise. Housed in an old theater, this Starbucks is a must-visit for any fan when in Seoul.
Many Starbucks stores boast stunning views worldwide, but a large-scale location with a factory interior in a downtown area like this one is truly remarkable and awe-inspiring.
Despite its expansive size, the ambiance is perfect for conversations, as the sound doesn’t carry much. I arrived at 11 am and managed to find a few available seats. However, arriving later might make it challenging to find a spot.
As a Starbucks fan, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The store exudes a feeling of connection while maintaining a classic and premium vibe.
We ordered two seasonal drinks and the matcha tiramisu. All three were too sweet for my liking, especially the matcha, which oddly tasted like strawberry milk. On the bright side, the pumpkin bread was delightfully tasty with its soft texture and creamy pumpkin filling. Unlike Starbucks in Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand, Korean Starbucks displays calorie information for each item on the menu, which noticeably influences customer choices.

경동 1960, originally an old cinema that closed down years ago and was nearly forgotten, has now been beautifully revitalized by Starbucks. They turned the entire building into a meaningful and visually stunning space.
I was captivated by the interior design and the atmosphere. Outside, it’s surrounded by a traditional herbal medicine market (약초 시장), but inside this old building, it is a full-fledged Starbucks. There are wide staircases where people casually sit, enjoying their drinks and food.
I visited with my wife, mother-in-law, and her longtime friend to celebrate together. We ordered over 30,000 won worth of items and received an adorable promotional doll as a gift - it was a nice fun.
The place was truly impressive. If you are a cafe lover, and especially if you are a Starbucks fan, this spot is...
Read moreHoused in a former cinema, this Starbucks store cleverly retained the terrace-like arrangement for seating, giving consumers a bird's eye view of the service counter. Unlike many Starbucks stores, this one is more spacious and has more comfortable seats. The interior consists of retro style mixed with contemporary style. Performances arr staged here in the evenings on certain days. Unfortunately, I failed to catch any.performances, but it still looked interesting. The store features a wider selection of drinks beyond the usual selections and it also offers a small selection of breads that looked delicious. We ordered the house brew, the matcha latte and the yuza mint tea. The matcha latte was spot-on in flavor while the yuza mint tea had a strong and refreshing fragrance of yuza which was complimented with a light hint of mint. The yuza mint tea was tad too sweet but the fragrance won me over. A Starbucks that I will revisit regularly and would bring friends...
