After watching a mukbang by Tzuyang, I visited 원조마산할매아구찜 and had a wonderful experience. The 간장게장 (soy sauce crab) and 양념게장 (spicy marinated crab) were standout dishes, both incredibly fresh and flavorful. We even had a quirky surprise with a mysterious seafood dish that unexpectedly squirted water across the table! Although I loved the crab dishes and wished there were more, the variety of side dishes was also delightful.
The restaurant was bustling with a diverse crowd, predominantly foreigners like myself, including many Chinese and Vietnamese patrons, with surprisingly few locals. This vibrant, international atmosphere added to the charm of the place, which boasts a rustic ambiance and a great selection of drinks. Open 24/7, 원조마산할매아구찜 is perfect for anyone craving authentic Korean seafood at any hour. Highly recommended for an authentic and enjoyable...
Read moreCame here specially for the raw crab marinated in soy sauce and I was definitely not disappointed. At ₩30000 per piece (they list it as ₩60000 on the menu, so minimum order might be two portions!), it is definitely not cheap. However, this was also one of my best meals in Korea. The crabs are a bit small, and it can be hard to eat cleanly if you are not familiar with crabs. However, it is well-worth every effort to dig and suck out every ounce of flesh. Near the end of your meal, mix your rice into the shell of the main body and eat it with the roe, digging into every corner of the shell to get every bit of roe out, and you will be greeted with a burst of concentrated crab flavour. Even the sauce itself is worth having with plain rice. It's not a meal you will keep having, but it is definitely a treat you want to give yourself...
Read moreThe raw marinaded crabs are a must try! The texture and sweetness of the crab is amazing and I want to keep inhaling them. The spicy raw crab is good but I preferred the original to taste more of the crab. The crab rice was fantastic!
The service here was the best out of all the food services I experienced in my week in Seoul. Even though she didn't speak English, she recognized that we didn't know how to properly eat the dishes and tried to help us with gestures. She also served us the soup and checked in periodically to make sure we were doing...
