만다린 — Restaurant in South Chungcheong

This restuarant refuses service to foreigners, based only on visual judgement by appearance. 이 식당은 외모판단 기반 인종차별적 영업정책으로 신분증 확인 없이 非한국인으로 보이는 손님의 출입을 엄격히 막고 있습니다. #부여 #만다린 The managing employee saw me approaching with my girlfriend (Korean), and came outside to physically block us from entering the doorway. I explained that I am a Buyeo resident and have not traveled abroad. He firmly refused all explanations, and said they have a "policy" against serving foreigners. The owner has served us before and was friendly at all previous visits, but this time showed no interest in coming to resolve the situation.

*There is a plaque by the door stating that the business is registered under the Tourist Association (mispelled). This needs to be revoked and removed, as their internal "policy" is in violation of the ethics agreements of the KTA.

I feel personally threatened by the knowledge that such blatant and unfounded racist policies are being enforced by business owners in my own neighborhood, where I pay taxes and diligently follow the rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including undergoing painful vaccinations, which I also pay for through my expensive contribution to the National Health Insurance as required for foreign residents...
