I discovered this place by accident as I was about to return home and I saw a sign that read Peruvian - Japanese..
Those two are wonderful by themselves but together must be incredible; and so it was!
The appetizer was prepared for us for us the moment we got there, and it was a powerful morsel announcing what would come afterwards.
The first appetizer was spicy edame, it was served hot with a delicious sauce that I had to ask for the ingredients because it did feel Japanes yet Peruvian, or Spanish at the same time; I was told there was also butter on it and I'm pretty sure there was paprika on it too. It was lovely.
Afterwards we had prawn tempura, six medium sized very crispy and made with a nice tasting batter and served with three sauces; the house sauce, mayonnaise based, had a touch of sourness that was perfect with prawns. There were also a delicious mustard based sauce and the popular sweet chili one that's very nice as well. The tempura was served on top of a mix alfalfa sprouts and edible flower petals, the choice of greens went very well with the prawns and we're so delicious we ate every single petal and sprout!
We also tried the "seafood chowder" (chupe de mariscos in Spanish), I would not call it chowder for it did not feel like it contained butter or was a particularly creamy as most I've eaten in Boston or Key West, it had a lighter white broth with rice, was very delicious and it really did feel homemade (like the one my wife's mother makes in Leon Spain!). It was full of pieces of fish, shrimps, octopus and squid; and was enough to share although the next time it will be perfect for just me!
Noodles with prawns came next, those prawns had the smokey flavor of having been stir fried on a hot grill, delicious. The noodles were al dente, and prepared with a mix of ingredients of wish the soy sauce and ginger were the main ingredients. They noodles were topped with delicate wakame greens and a sprinkle of white and black sesame seeds. It was an adequate portion to share between two adults and we felt satisfied and it was delicious too.
For dessert we had a piece of cake called "cremoso de piña" reminding me of the "tres leches" very popular in Miami, but it also had a touch of coconut milk; topped with mango Italian style ice. On a par with the rest of the dishes.
Together with the food we had 3 pints of Spanish draft beer served on cold "jarras"
All throughout the meal the staff were very attentive to our every need and yet subdued. Overall a very pleasant experience from the start till the end.
The decoration was simple and nice, we ate on the covered outside terrace that happened to be a meter or so above street level so it felt fresh, like on a balcony. Nice.

I'm planning to come again next weekend and try more dishes with the mix of flavors from both Peruvian and Japanese cuisines.
I have to add that this is quite a long review but I've enjoyed remembering all the flavors I experienced tonight and writing about it has been...
Read moreWho gave this place a high rating clearly doesnt have any taste or understanding of food. Lousy, overpriced food with such quality that could be an example of how not to cook. To name just a few. Tuna tartar with spicy sauce that kills all the taste of tuna with chunks bigger than a japan dumpling, sushi looking and tasting like it had been made by my 8 year old, noodles with beef that could be fed to my dogs and rice with chicken that is so dry that you need half of a liter of soy sauce for it to have any flavor. Be aware sushi for 8 pcs costs here about 20 eur. They bring you first tuna tartar and you get sushi with the same tartar on top. Basically they should close and not be a disgrace and shame for japan and asian food....
