Restaurante El Cápita — Restaurant in Agaete

How else to end a very nice day than by having some really tasty food.

We chose some sardines as starter, they were really delicious and fresh. For main course we decided to go for more fish, so the fish platter for 2 people. The fish was really good, very fresh, the only thing that was missing was some salt on the fish. Once we added some it was even better.

The also have a good selection of wines and prices are really good.

The restaurant is overlooking the Agaete port and you can watch sunset from the terrace. We liked the decor with hanging plants from the ceiling and colourful walls.

The waiter who I think is also the owner was really friendly. The only down side was that you can only pay cash, so if you are considering eating here withdraw some...

We visited El Capitan on a Monday evening in late February 2016. The restaurant was quiet but we were given a friendly welcome and took a table overlooking the harbour. Before our main course we were given bread and a paella tapas on the house and we followed this with a mixed fish dish with noodles for two. To drink we had a half litre of the house red and a bottle of water. Finally we finished off with two home made deserts.

All the food was delicious and we were amazed to be presented with a bill for only Euro 37. The service was friendly and attentive at all times.

El Capitá was recommended to us by local folks and in my opinion they serve the best seafood in Agaete! Special compliments to the chef❤️ Everything was cooked to perfection and the octopus was definitely the best I've ever had! The portions were generous and we got an extra dish free.
