Cal Barquer — Restaurant in Alella

the service today was the worst I had in a long time. We arrive at 12:00 to eat, many table free but all in the sun. So we wait to get one in the shadow because they say we cannot move tables. 10min later two families come and they move all the table for them to be in the shade. We ask why, they say because they are eating. So are we. But in the end they are very sorry and no more table left. We wait 10min more and finally someone leave and we can seat in the shade. We want to order food but they say we have to wait until 13:00 so in the meantime they only serve French fries and artichoke. We order this and drinks and wait until 13:00 to finally ask to order food. And then they tell us sorry the table is booked (the one we were using...) so if we want to eat food we have to go inside the restaurant. We have 2 kids so obviously we need to have eyes on them and cannot eat inside. Again they say a simple sorry but they didn’t do anything to apologize for us wasting 1h of our time at their place Hungry, with 2 toddlers and 1 elderly, to be kicked out when time to eat and of course paying our bill. Unprofessional. Note that the food is good here, no questions. But very bad service experience. so I hope this review will help...

After a lovely day in Alella we arrived at 3pm and asked if there was still time to eat. The kitchen said it was closing at 3:45 but the staff made it clear that they were not that keen on serving anyone else even though they were serving food for another 45 minutes. The barmans response was sarcastic and rude. We were told we could eat if we decided immediately which we did. The plates were delicious but the waiter and waitress were so rude and full of excuses that the food wasn’t that important in the end. We ordered 3 shared dishes with some bread. The bread which was meant to be eaten with each dish was the last to come out. When we complained we received an earful from both the waitress and the waiter who also started talking about us with a table of guests. There were so many excuses about how each plate is served separately even the bread as a last plate that I made a joke about how I didn’t realize the bread was a desert. So when the waiter brought the bill he made a comment how the bill was the desert. We felt very unwelcome like only locals are allowed in this venue. It’s a shame because the food and venue are nice but the waiting service...

Escribo esta reseña para contestar a la que se escribió inmediatamente anterior, por parte de Marta M.

Antes de nada, decir que espero que dediquéis el mismo tiempo a leer reseñas ajenas que a escribir las vuestras. No entraré a valorar esta práctica, más propia de niños de la edad de los que tanto os quejáis que de dos adultos.

Para empezar, no entiendo por qué os referís a esos niños como "los hijos de algún trabajador" cuando os expliqué perfectamente de quienes eran hijos y por qué estaban en el restaurante. Y creo que tenerlos allí era la mejor opción, a no ser que antepongamos vuestras exigencias y deseos al bienestar de un niño y una niña de menos de 11 años.

Por otro lado, ante la afirmación de los móviles, (los cuales son mis comanderos de trabajo) que estaban con la voz alta, tan solo puedo decir que es FALSO. El volumen de los móviles estaba a su 10%, y si bien vosotros no habéis visto jamás a un niño en un restaurante con un móvil, yo jamás he visto ni escuchado nadie que se quejara de que dos niños estuvieran mirando videos, de hecho la reacción de la gente al verlos, suele ser de ternura, como sería esperable en cualquier ser humano. Se trataba de dos niños sentados, sin molestar a nadie y en silencio, con el volumen de sus móviles bien bajitos.

Si tuvisteis la impresión de que os tomé nota "a gritos", no me queda más que pedir perdón. Si existe una nueva ocasión, me esforzaré más en haceros entender que los niños tenían el comandero y que no podía tomar nota desde otro dispositivo que no fuera el ordenador, el cual estaba a 1 metro de vuestra mesa, sin nadie en el restaurante. No recuerdo haber mediado palabra mientras os tomaba la comanda, pero si fuera el caso, dudo mucho que necesitara gritar para que me escucharais, más teniendo en cuenta la agudeza de vuestros oídos.

Finalmente, no acabo de comprender por qué intentas relacionar el que sirviera un vino picado, que por cierto, retiré inmediatamente al verlo en la copa (no tengo problema en reconocer el error) con que se te cobraran 7 euros por una copa de vino que cuesta 7 euros, a no ser que pretendieras una rebaja de precio, inclusive una invitación, por haber tenido un error, el cual repito, no me cuesta asumir. Recordarte también, que te comenté que solo teníamos dos marcas de vinos con botellas sin abrir, invitándote a mirar los vinos de los que disponíamos. Seguramente, descartaste uno los vinos, con lo cual solo me diste la opción a servirte uno en concreto.

No puedo acabar esta reseña de otro modo que el siguiente: Lamento haberme opuesto a las órdenes de mi jefe, cuando inmediatamente tras escuchar las palabras que dedicasteis a la presencia de sus hijos, me instó a entregaros la nota e invitaros a marchar.

Pd: Lamento también que tuvierais que soportar las vistas a una despensa, debe haber...
