Alambique Cervecería — Restaurant in Alicante

We stopped here yesterday on a public holiday - it was open and buzzing. Lots of good ambience m, lots of people and plenty of staff. We were able to get a table and then we waited, and waited - all we were wanting was a coffee. Eventually manage to get a waitress and ordered a cafe con leche, fuete, what we received was a large milky coffee in a glass mug so we then had to order an espresso to add to the coffee we received and still it was marginal. Enticed though by the delicious looking clams the table next to us received, we ordered the same and waited…. a long time to be told the clams were finished and so we opted for mussels. Eventually they came, beautiful mussels but for us spoiled by the aroma and taste of the local tap water that has a distinct flavour of chlorine 😞. Perhaps for the Spanish, used to the water, it goes unnoticed and is acceptable but not for us. We were in the latter half of our experience helped by a delightful young man, one of the waiters, who spoke English and was very apologetic when I explained our dissatisfaction. I believe that this Cerveceria is good and most certainly judging by the reviews here. I just think we unfortunately had a less than five star experience. In the end it was really just a coffee...

Had an amazing evening here! The staff was very friendly! They don’t speak English and I don’t speak Spanish very well but they did try their best to communicate with us and recommending their best dishes! We had a complimentary Ensalada Rusa (Russian salad) which was so lovely. 🥺 We also had the Octopus with potatoes, a potato dish that was the house special, and a croquet. All of them were so delicious!! I wish I was hungrier so I could try more food. We also had a jar of Sangria, which was very refreshing! Definitely will come back.

Pongámonos en la siguiente situación: es una noche de verano, reservas con toda la ilusión en un restaurante (cuyo nombre no desvelaré) para pasar una agradable velada con tu pareja y amigos y, cuando llegas allí, te desesperas al ver que han pasado 40 minutos y ni siquiera te han tomado nota de las bebidas todavía. Sales de allí a las 23:00, mosqueado, viendo cómo, de manera totalmente inesperada, la noche se ha echado a perder porque la mayoría de restaurantes de la zona cierran su cocina sobre las 00:00. ¿En cuántos sitios te acogerían y darían cobijo? Se os vienen a la mente pocos locales, ¿verdad?

Pues bien, en esta agradable cervecería nos hicieron un hueco en sus corazones de manera desinteresada, vieron nuestros rostros expresivos y decidieron hacer el esfuerzo que pocos harían de prepararnos rápidamente una mesa para salvar nuestra noche. Y es que nos habríamos conformado con poco, pero nos colmaron con un manjar tras otro, y no hablo solo de comida (las "patatas bravísimas" y las croquetas de chopitos adoptaron repentinamente la forma del caviar), sino de un servicio excelente y personal a más no poder (incluso nos invitaron a una rica tarta de chocolate al escuchar que a las 00:00 era el cumpleaños de una de las comensales).

En resumen, no quiero destripar la experiencia dando excesivos detalles sobre la experiencia que tendréis si decidís escogerlo para comer o cenar, pero os adelanto que querréis repetir y que os toparéis con un par de sorpresas cuya originalidad se incrustará en...
