Service was quite bad. We had a booking at 9:45, told a waiter (guy with a nose ring), he didn't acknowledge us nor told us what to do so we were just aimlessly standing in the door and only after we asked him again (15 mins after our booking time, and after he seated another family of 3 as some chosen and unprepared table) if it's still happening he told us to wait again and only then after a few mins we had a table ready for us. I understand they're busy but I also think some of the workers aimlessly perform some non priority tasks (like collecting & folding napkins, wiping tables that are left not set for future customers, not to mention making a few trips with wine/water/napkins instead of bringing it all at once and taking the empty ones at the same time - very ineffective as a previous hospitality worker). Food was quite good, full of flavour, and for reasonable price but I wish hey would also bring olives or bread for tapas. After this it was also quite difficult to get a bill because and in total we spent more time waiting to be seated/taken order/served & cleaned (they didn't even change our cutlery after the tapas, just grabbed it and put it straight on the table without a napkin) and only then after asking twice handled a bill. In summary the food and is really good but service doesn't deserve the price that they ask for. I recommend something cheaper and less...
Read moreUpon first glance it appears to be an authentic Spanish bodega with beautiful internal decor in Alicante’s old town. The right seating area of the restaurant was full as it was the only section with air conditioning, so we were sat on the left which was quite stuffy. We ordered a selection of traditional tapas & were disappointed by the poor quality. We expected better as the food was quite expensive (19€ for a plate of jamón straight out of the Aldi packet); the calamares were so undercooked that they were still pink. We suspect they keep a lot of frozen foods & charge whatever they want based on their touristic location alone. They even served us white sliced processed bread that tasted like air. There are plenty of other restaurants in the neighbourhood with similar prices but the quality is outstanding in comparison. Do not eat here, it’s a tourist trap.
Update: the restaurant replied to my review & started by saying they strive to use customer feedback to improve their services. They then finish by saying it was an unfair review (which I've also noticed in their other replies) based on the experiences of others, essentially disregarding everything I've said without actually addressing any of the points raised. This is rather...
Read moreThe restaurant look really nice and had a nice and local atmosphere. The service was good and our food came fast. But, the food was terrible. We ordered two paellas and one of them tasted of a extremely salty risotto and the other was an extremely salty Asian flavoured rice. Neither of them were remotely close to a paella. We were a table of six and two were vegetarian, there were very few options for them and they were very plain and had very little flavour. We ended up only having a few bites of the food and we were all left with a nauseating feeling, because of the eksesive amount of salt.
We were really disappointed, because the people working there where really nice and the place was lovely. But the quality of the food was so terrible, that it ruined our experience at...
