During my visit to Alicante, I had the pleasure of dining at Mesón Marinero, and it quickly became one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. This family run gem embodies everything you want from an authentic dining experience: passion, warmth, and exceptional food. One of the owners, who was also serving, made the lunch truly special. His enthusiasm for food and wine was contagious. He took the time to describe several bottles of wine in detail, helping us choose the perfect pairing for our meal. The attention to detail and personal touch made it feel like we were dining in someone’s home. The food? Simply outstanding. The Turbot in Castreña Way is an absolute must-try, perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and beautifully presented. Every dish was a celebration of local ingredients and tradition. To top it all off, the owner returned at the end of the meal with a selection of sweet wines for us to try, showcasing the same care and passion as before. I can’t wait to go back to Mesón Marinero. This place is a true reflection of what makes Spanish hospitality so special. Highly recommended!

One of the best meals I had in Spain so far. We wanted to have nice lunch since it looked great in the reviews. It exceeded my already high expectations. The restaurant is nice and cozy with a very warm feel. The staff was super nice and helpful, even though I barely spoke any Spanish. But the most important part was the food. It was simply great, we had a variety seafood dishes and also a steak. The food was fresh and had a very well balanced seasoning, the octopus ist superb. The streak was also well prepared, great char on the crust and made as we wanted, medium rare. Great place quite abit out of the city center but definitely worth the drive there.

Homenaje gastronómico, vuelta a los orígenes en un mundo excesivamente embelesado con las presentaciones extravagantes y empeñado en el show más que en la comida. Nada de esto encontrarás aquí, cocina tradicional marinera y de mercado, donde ante todo prima la calidad y el buen gusto. Pescados y mariscos frescos del día y recién llegados de la lonja. El buen gusto por la comida debe ser contagioso, porque se traslada a la propia decoración del local, renovada, con cocina abierta, pero que te traslada al mismo tiempo al pasado, recordando desde la barra, hasta las sillas o los azulejos, a las tradicionales “casas del mar” que mis padres frecuentaban en mi niñez, desde Santa Pola hasta el Campello. Y como no podía ser de otra forma, este buen gusto se ve reflejado en sus vinos, con una carta amplia y variada, muy bien escogida, y con la posibilidad de maridaje por copas. En nuestro caso, excelente y valiente, desde el comienzo con un vino rancio para los entrantes y encurtidos hasta el final con un Sherry Cream. Con algunas mezclas que ni yo me hubiera atrevido a sugerir, Javi demuestra su autodidacta sabiduría (lo que aún tiene más mérito) para realzar y acompañar cada uno de los platos.
