First of all, if anyone knows the contact info for the owner or boss of Thai Corner, please could they share it with me somehow?
I wanted to immediately review my experience at the restaurant as I am still shook.
I will preface this review by saying the food was excellent, the pace and value for money also.
HOWEVER what I cannot believe was the behaviour of the self titled 'manager' there.
We ordered the spring rolls to start, followed by the 'drunken' noodles, the pad prik with duck and two (remember this!) pad chas with beef. The pad cha we were told could come with the rice or noodles, my sister chose the noodles for hers and my niece asked for egg fried rice to accompany hers. He did not clarify this or read it back to us but ok, some servers don't.
When the food arrived, out came my pad prik, my partners drunken noodles, one portion of pad cha, a rice and a bowl of noodles. Our server told us to enjoy our food and I queried 'but we ordered two pad chas', he told me we didn't and I insisted we did. They put the order in and out came the last pad cha.
All was well, until the bill came... we were charged for one starter and five main courses. The server had put in my nieces rice as a meal, added beef and vegetables to it, then also charged for the pad cha that had not been sent. Clearly a miscommunication had occured. I brought this to his attention and then found myself engaged in a heated arguement with this man for the next 35 minutes, where he argued that my 17 year old niece had clearly ordered this dish she had never heard of and that we were clearly happy as we ate. I may add that this was embarassing and uncomfortable for those around us (I apologised to the customers we were disturbing)
I asked if i could speak to a manager and he insisted he was the manager, he continued to argue with me and then decided to ignore me and speak to my partner instead. The same arguement transpired between the two men, until I relented: I would pay in exchange for the boss'/owners name and contact information. He said he was the boss and we could email the website... I pushed, he told me his bosses name is 'Corner', pointing to the sign, I asked for a name and he said that is his name. Corner who owns Thai corner, like Cher I guess?
Ultimately, I did pay. I'm not a bad person and to be honest we were getting nowhere.
BUT if someone does know the name of the person who owns or runs Thai corner, please can you share it? I'm not looking for money back or an apology, I just want to inform the owner how this particular server treated this situation, the customers and their restaurant that has a...
Read moreIf you like when food has taste, this place is not for you.
Crispy duck with soft vegetables or overcooked piece of unrecognisable deep fried bird with no single spice, served with sugar syrup («honey») on top of few leaves of Bok Choy and with few slices of orange. Fat, tasteless and boring. We asked for soy sauce but it didn't help, so we asked about something fresh and very spicy. We ended up with papaya salad which doesn't following original Thai recepies at all. No garlic, fish sauce or lime juice, barely sour, and to make it's spicy they just sprinkled a ton of dry hot pepper on it, big hard pieces of chili seeds. Glutinous rice was ok, happily they can boil rice, it should be served with fish sauce or any other sauce, though. Food had no taste so my stomach stopped and I thought I'd throw up. Happily it didn't happened. Waiter was passive aggressive. He asked did we liked food while watching mostly left dishes and proposed to give it to take away twice. I explained that food has not enough taste and I cannot handle it. I tried to stay polite and said «probably I made a wrong choice», and he answered «next time you will choose better». How about cook better next time? :) They really great in serving Coca-Cola, it costs €3 though. They didn't have fresh juice. Didn't found any paper in the toilet.
After spending €50 for portion of «duck» with «vegetables», «salad», and 2 portions of rice (1 portion is about 1,5 tbsp) we left this place not fullfilled but totally fed up.
We chosen this place because I need to eat bright food which has spices, sweet and sour taste because of my health condition. I explained to waiter my stomach doesn't work because of their food and I cannot eat this. Instead of saying sorry he just wished I'll choose better next time. Yes, next time I'd rather chose to catch and eat a pigeon from the street than...
Read moreExceptional Service and Incredible Kindness on Christmas Eve.
I want to start by saying that the service and kindness of the staff here are beyond anything I could have ever expected.
I suffer from severe back pain, which makes it difficult for me to sit. Typically, I need to stand at a high-top table to dine comfortably. When the restaurant didn’t have high-tops available, I assured the staff that I was perfectly fine standing at a regular table.
But they didn’t stop there. To my absolute amazement, the staff went out of their way to borrow a high-top table from a neighboring restaurant and add it to our setup so I could enjoy my meal in comfort. Despite my insistence that I was okay, their thoughtfulness and care left me speechless.
I’ve never experienced such extraordinary kindness while dining out. This act alone speaks volumes about their values and the kind of place this is. It’s rare to find such compassion in today’s world, and it made our Christmas Eve celebration truly unforgettable.
The food, by the way, is nothing short of amazing—but it’s the spirit of the people here that makes this restaurant truly special. If you’re looking for exceptional food, warm service, and a place that embodies the true Christmas spirit, look no further.
Highly recommended, with all my gratitude and prayers for this...
