recently visited a Mexican restaurant in Almeria, Spain, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows. One of the notable positives was the pleasant atmosphere – the restaurant was comfortably air-conditioned, and I appreciated the absence of flies, creating a comfortable environment to enjoy my meal.
However, my disappointment began when I found out that they didn’t offer the classic chips and salsa combination that many Mexican restaurants are known for. Instead, the nachos I ordered were served quickly but were quite basic, resembling something you might find at a gas station or a movie theater. They were just chips with cheese, jalapeños, and chopped onions. The guacamole and salsa were served on the side, with the salsa lacking the authentic Mexican flavor I was expecting.
On the brighter side, the verde enchiladas I ordered were a saving grace. They were delicious, filled with shredded meat and beans, topped with generous portions of sour cream and guacamole. The presence of shredded lettuce added a refreshing crunch, and the enchiladas were substantial enough to feed two people. This dish truly stood out and made the overall dining experience worthwhile.
In addition to the food, the restaurant offered fast and friendly service, enhancing the dining experience despite the shortcomings in the menu. The background Mexican music added a nice touch to the ambiance.
It’s worth mentioning that the restaurant lacked Wi-Fi, which might be a drawback for some customers looking to stay connected during their meal. Despite the drawbacks, the verde enchiladas managed to save the day, leaving me with a slightly underwhelmed feeling overall. If you’re in the area and craving Mexican food, this restaurant might satisfy your hunger, but don’t expect an entirely...
Read moreStylish and buzzy Mexican cocktail bar and restaurant. I felt about twenty years too old for this cafe - and resisted the temptation to have a Tequila sunrise, but I have to say the quality of the food and the welcome surprised me. The dishes are spicy and generous. The cocktails look extraordinary and the deserts are worth saving a little room. I had a two chilli (heat rating) Enchilada Roja, which was delicious - and not too hot for a Londoner habituated to curry) It was enough for two. I left room to follow with a chocolate flavoured Flan de Elote (corn or maize) with pistachio ice cream. All in all, a...
Read moreI ordered thru the website and was told it would be ready by 2100. I showed up at 2110, and it hadn’t been started yet. I waited 15 mins for it to be prepared and boxed up. Unfortunately, when I arrived home, the fajita meat was so chewy it was nearly impossible to eat… it looked delicious but once I started eating it was nearly impossible to chew thru the meat…. Which is very disappointing for a $30 meal. Also I was charged €2.50 for this habareno spicy sauce, which was filled half full … unfortunately it is overpriced and...
