Hotel Yola — Restaurant in Altafulla

This has been the third year that we have spent a week's vacation in this hotel, in the small coastal town of Altafulla. The third year, but I hope there are many more. We were taken by friends who have been going with the family for decades. A small hotel that belongs to the same family that takes care of each one of the clients, and that takes care of their well-being and to improve the hotel. This year many new features and improvements: new mattresses, bathrooms, wifi better and without cost ... The rooms are spacious, with good air conditioning, a useful table, large closet and comfortable bathrooms. The cleanliness of the rooms is very good, and the rooms overlook the common terrace, with a small table and two chairs per room, which people use at all hours to read, talk, spend time, and give on the pool and the garden.||There are not even 40 rooms, but many of them have an extra bed because many families go, and they easily fit a marriage with one or two small children. The good thing is that, although it is a very familiar hotel, with many "repeaters", it is absolutely quiet and there is great independence.||When we go, we always use half board: breakfast and lunch at the hotel restaurant buffet. Breakfast has also improved this year because the buffet area has been extended, which makes the service more comfortable and there is more to choose from. It's a pretty Catalan breakfast: sausages from the area, bread with tomato and oil, with different breads; but also cereals, fresh fruits, croissants and some pastries. All delicious. Coffee, juices and infusions. We take everything to the garden tables, to enjoy the outdoors.||But we also love the buffet, which is very Catalan - again: many Catalan stews of meat, fish and vegetables - but also many salads, grilled foods, desserts, etc.||In the month of July and August it is full, especially on weekends. And when it really is delicious is in the months of May and June, and September, because there are not so many people and because the time is still magnificent.||The hotel is 3 minutes walk from the hotel, and we go in the morning and in the late afternoon, and also early in the morning, we take a walk of more than an hour by the beaches, from corner to corner; but the pool is fantastic and a place to enjoy a good read on the sunbeds.||The hotel staff is lovely, and the owners are always on the look out for everything and help with any issue. Many Spaniards and Catalans, but also many Belgians, French, English, Germans, who have been going there for years.||Please: I can only recommend the hotel ... but please do not go in July and August, or we -those of all the years- will be...

This comment is for my friends who plan to spend a few days in Tarragona. ||We have just came back after two weeks at Hotel Yola de Altafulla. A 2-star hotel, which you could find in California or Florida in the 70s, with less than 40 rooms. A very familiar and quiet atmosphere... and perfect for our holidays. They have made some improvements in the rooms, but the cleanliness is perfect, the rooms comfortable and best individual air conditioning, the attention and service first quality, the tranquility and the atmosphere fantastic. Perfect location: three minutes walk to the beach.||This time we went with half board: we had lunch every day at the hotel buffet, before a little nap and then return to the beach until dinner time. Absolutely the ultimate way to rest. The hotel is very familiar and with visitors who repeat every year. The hotel's small pool is also perfect for those quiet plans.||No parties at night in the hotel, but at 8:30 in the morning people are already in the dining room having breakfast to prepare for another day of beach and sun.||For us it has been the best plan to rest, and the price surprisingly conservative.||I guess the most of August must be very busy, but July was heaven, and I guess September could be really the...
