Restaurant Voramar Cal Vitali — Restaurant in Altafulla

In the past 20years we have been here several times and loved the location, right on the beach. Unfortunately, the orientation of the open air seats has changed a bit (maybe the flooding in winter contributed to this?) You still sit near the beach now but more towards the small wood/ picnic area/ open air gym oriented.

The food was ok. Classic Spanish cuisine.

For vegetarians there is a delicious paella. It was presented at an insanely fast pace and then was gone even faster only to be served again on the plates. Our table was big enough so it wouldn’t be a problem to put the paella on the table and everyone can serve themself individually.

The advertised fish of the day with potatoes was tasty but not really filling with three crisps. For the price, it could have been a „real side dish“.

I ate at Voramar twice last week. The place opens at 11 am but the kitchen at 13:00 so the Google info is a bit misleading. I had lunch there between 13 and 15. First time I ordered paella de pescado y mariscos. Since I was by myself, I was initially told the paella is for two or more guests to share. However, the waiter came back in less than 1 minute to tell me that they will make a small portion for me, look at the attached photo. It was one of the best paellas I ever had! In short, the staff was friendly, with a great sense of humor, and accommodating. Since I had the entire experience in Castellano, I am not sure if guests who don't speak Spanish or Catalá will have the same experience. A notice, there is 10% local tax added...

A very bad experience. The service was very unprofessional. The restaurant had construction works on the side, which were amazingly loud. The waiters were moving tables and seats around in a disorderly fashion around us, which was almost as noisy. We really felt unwelcome. We were seated outside and were not offered to be seated inside, because a tube was broken inside, which created a bad smell. As soon as we arrived, we were told that "we need to order within 5 monutes". At the end, the bill arrived with some unexpectedly and inexplicably exorbitant prices of appetizers. No care at all to create a nice atmosphere. Would never visit this...
