So you go to this restaurant and order the half chicken during a late lunch “sorry we don’t have any chicken left “ ..ok , so we decide on the dorada fish. 2 minutes later the waitress comes back to inform us that there will be a delay with this dish . Note : it’s not busy so I think they have literally gone fishing ! The meal turns up about 15 min later, over well done you could say for fish but I am so hungry at this stage I need food. The poor fish is covered in a vegetable sauce (poor fish) so I had to remove all this before I could actually see some fish . By then the meal is just horrible ! The lovely lady waitress asked me how my food was and I politely told her it was not good . She understood and told me next time don’t add the sauce (which I didn’t know was included)..she was sweet , professional in manner and a really good waitress . As for the guy waitress, he comes to the table 5 minutes after I already had this conversation with the lady and asked “how was our meal “. I said it was not good ..are you not allowed to say these words these days ! His very direct response was “ why did you not say so earlier “ ..I rest my case . No tip left which I would have happily left for the lady waitress but the overall experience was really really poor . Seriously, McDonalds offers an overall better experience and food than this restaurant and that is saying a lot . Lots of restaurants around , don’t stop at this one like us. Bad mistake ! Also note , only now do I look at all the positive reviews , most have photos, makes me now very suspicious- are these real reviews . Read moreWent here on Valentine's Day for a special dinner menu three courses choice of two dishes for each course.I chose camembert followed by fillet steak followed by creme brulee..my wife chose seafood cocktal ribs and ice cream .been there an hour when the waitress told us there was no camembert..but some body had gone out to get some..they needn't have bothered ..It was awful. The seafood cocktail turned out to be a dollop of mash with two Gambas and two tiny mussels. Nobody asked me how I wanted my steak cooked..fortunately they got it right..the meat was ok but difficult to find on the plate it was so small.four mouthfuls with enough foie gras for one of those..came with roasted vegetables that I am not sure had seen the inside of an oven..no potato of any sort..very ordinary ribs with a massive baked potato..ice cream nothing to write home about and the creme brulee was inedible..bit like tile grouting..sent it back . All in all total waste of money for lousy food. The live music was good and when I complained about the food their explanation was that it was their first night. I think you have probably guessed that I will not be using this restaurant again. The name suggests it could be an English restaurant..but it is not. We were not the only dissatisfied customers. The food we received did not look like the pictures shown here. It seems that the owner who was not actually there..is not prepared to accept that the food was substandard, . And I certainly was not disrespectful to his staff..He has not commented on my comments about the food ...only his conception about who is actually reviewing...
Read moreWell it wasn't a terrible meal,but it certainly wasn't good. My husband had gazpacho which tasted lovely but had been plated and left in the fridge so it was split. We had chateaubriand medium. The outside was charred the inside was well done. There were no serving utensils so to get to the veg you had to keep leaning over the table also there was no light working so hard to see too.The salad tasted as though it has been dressed and left in the fridge. Not nice. When we mentioned this the waitress, who was very nice she said next time she would make sure it was less cooked! When the waiter asked if our food was good I replied ok but not good, to which he replied good! And I said no not good. He did give my husband dessert on the house by way of an apology. It's a shame.
