McDonald's — Restaurant in Antigua

The McDonald's is well situated, just a twenty minute walk out of the main centre of Costa Caleta and opposite the shopping centre.

The store inside smells very pleasant, however the general cleanliness is not great. For example; dirty trays remained on the table and the toilets were disgusting.

Our experience was poor. We ordered using the digital kiosks to make the experience easy- we order in English, the system translates and tells them what to assemble for us. However, yet they still made and gave us the wrong blended ice drinks. We informed the manager about the issue on the dining area and she shrugged and pointed to the front counter... we found ourselves resolving their problem. Many people exaggerate about the issues during their experience, however we really did wait an extra ten minutes to receive our drink that we should have actually had.

All in all, the food we ordered was fresh and tasty. It seems this restaurant focusses more on the quality side of operations rather than service. Language barriers did not affect our experience on this occasion. At the end of the day, a McDonald's is a McDonald's and there aren't many other stores to choose from on this island.

I wouldn't recommend you don't go, but I do recommend that you allow extra time...

Espero que esta noche hayan tenido un problema grave en la cocina que justifique el malestar que todos los clientes sintieron esta tarde sobre las 22.30 horas. Una vez que ordenamos nos sentamos, después de 20 minutos (el lugar adentro estaba 50% vacío, no había clientes afuera) nos levantamos para preguntar por nuestro pedido ya que el mostrador no procedía con la numeración. Después de otros 10 minutos llegó el pedido, el sándwich estaba completamente frío, no un poco caliente, pero sí frío. Lo llevé al mostrador y tuve que esperar otros 10 minutos para conseguir mi sándwich (mientras tanto las patatas fritas se habían enfriado), abrí el sándwich y apenas estaba tibio, el queso ni siquiera estaba derretido y la esquina estaba Del sándwich sobresalía y estaba frío al tacto. Mientras esperaba en el mostrador noté que la bandeja donde se colocan los productos antes de ser entregados estaba llena de sándwiches. Estaban ahí y nadie los entregó, claro que se enfría todo! Mientras esperaba otros clientes me devolvieron el postre porque era pequeño en cantidad (la mitad del de sus fotos) y decorado de forma indecente. Después de una cena fría, al salir del restaurante solo vi gente esperando (durante mucho tiempo) y una cola interminable de autos afuera esperando el servicio. El lugar está muy sucio internamente, mesas y piso sucios con comida en el piso. Una cadena como esta debería estar mucho más atenta a su personal o al menos debería aprovechar la profesionalidad de un gerente.

Una volta ordinato ci siamo messi a sedere, dopo 20 minuti (locale dentro al 50% vuoto, fuori nessun cliente) ci siamo alzati per chiedere del nostro ordine visto che il display non procedeva con la numerazione. Dopo altri 10 minuti è arrivato l’ordine, il panino era completamente freddo, non poco caldo, ma freddo. L’ho portato al banco e ho dovuto aspettare altri 10 minuti per avere il mio panino (nel frattempo le patatine si erano raffreddate), apro il panino ed era appena appena tiepido, il formaggio non era nemmeno sciolto e l’angolo fuori dal panino al tatto era freddo. mentre aspettavo al banco ho notato che il vassoio dove vengono riposti i prodotti prima di essere consegnati era pieno di panini! Erano lì e nessuno li consegnava, ovvio che tutto si raffredda! Mentre aspettavo altri clienti hanno portato indietro il dessert perché era scarso in quantità (la metà di quello delle loro foto) e decorato in modo indecente. dopo una cena fredda, uscendo dal locale ho solo visto persone che stavano aspettando (da molto tempo) e una fila fuori interminabile di auto che aspettavano il servizio. Locale internamente molto sporco, tavoli sporchi e pavimento con cibo a terra. I will describe 2 experiences with very much the same outcome. Drive-thru experience, the attendant didn't understand English, so a second attendant came to assist, all seemed ok, we got the bag with the food and drove off, opened the bag to find out the order was partially right. On Xmas day we got our 2 little ones to dine in, used the machine to place the order so to avoid any misunderstanding, got the number and placed it on our table, the tray came in and there were items missing but the attendant took the number away, so the order was completed. Again no word of English and I've tried to say that there were items missing, after a while he seemed to understand and said they ran out for 1 of the items and we could choose something else instead and as for another 3 he bought it in after I showed it on my receipt. Big chain, very touristy place you'd expect a bit more in terms...
