Bahía Verde — Restaurant in Arona

First time in my life I was treated so bad in a restaurant. I was there with my husband and 1.5 year old daughter and we ordered “Power Salad” and pizza. The salad was very different than on the picture. For example, there was no avocado on top of it (we ordered it primarily because it had avocado, which our little daughter likes. ) I asked the waiter if there should be avocado and his answer was that it depends on a season. Then I asked of they replaced it with another ingredient to compensate the value (it’s not a cheap salad). He didn’t know and called a cook. The cook said that avocados are too expensive now and that’s why it wasn’t included. Also, she said the following “Do you know how much time I spent cooking tempeh??”(that was said quite aggressively). Tempeh was another ingredient in the salad. Then she said that we can return the salad and she left.

Honestly, we were shocked by this situation. Of course, we never went back...

We sadly only discovered this place on our last night in Tenerife, otherwise we would have dined there on more than one night.

Amazing vegan restaurant with dishes that will blow your mind! We've been vegan for over a year and Bahia verde helped us remember all the flavours we grew up with. Their home-made cheese is hands down the best we've tried so far in our vegan journey.

We had some bruschette with marinated carrots, which really tricked our brains into thinking we were eating smoked salmon! And their focaccia with vegan stracciatella was light yet full of flavour.

We also had two pasta dishes, the vegan carbonara and the spaztle with truffle... both so creamy and indulgent. The staff was also extremely friendly and super attentive to our needs. It's always nice to meet like-minded individuals and support their cruelty free businesses 🥰

Visited on a Friday night, perhaps should have booked a table because it was almost full and some tables were reserved. Sat in their outside bit. Maybe at this time of night bring a jumper. No outside heating. The owner /waiter was very busy serving us all but did a great job. We are both vegan so absolutely had to come and try this place. We ordered the full vegan cheese board which was all homemade including the marmalade and crackers. It was unlike any vegan cheese I've had before. Very nice!! I want his recipe. I believe a lot of time and hard work goes in to making them. We then had the Verde gnocchi and courgette pizza. Enjoyed the flavours of the pizza more, again really nice!
