La locanda — Restaurant in Arona

When we arrived, we were greeted with a very abrupt “how many?” which set the tone — it felt rushed and not very welcoming. Drinks were served without coasters, so condensation left water all over the table.

We asked about a children’s menu and were told there isn’t one, absolutely fine no problem they said they do half portions of pasta. We ordered plain pasta with mozzarella on the side — the pasta came out rock hard, the mozzarella was an extra €1 on top of the €5 pasta, and unfortunately our little one couldn’t eat it it was so hard in places.

Prices overall felt quite high compared to other local restaurants. For example, soft drinks here were €3.25 when elsewhere we’ve only paid around €2–2.50. The pizza and service were okay, but honestly we’ve had better (and more reasonably priced) at Pizza May. I know it’s just a takeaway but we ate in there and the pizza and the service was 👌🏼

In the end, it felt overpriced for the quality and experience. Sadly, we wouldn’t recommend it and won’t be...

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. From entering the staff were outstanding. Hard working and very people friendly. The place was busy and short staffed but we still managed to get starters and main with a short wait. The food was delicious cooked to perfection with soo much flavour. I couldn’t eat all my main as the starter wasn’t small. Extremely highly recommended but definitely book if you have a large group it gets busy… and there’s a thousand...

Nous avons été mangé un soir à 3 personnes avec réservation, tout le monde a bien mangé, cuisine italienne classique. Il est préférable de réserver même en semaine car ce restaurent est très fréquenté. La terrasse est bien et pas trop bruyante, les chaises un peut dur, si sensible prendre un petit coussin. le parking est facile et juste devant le restaurent et non payant. Le personnel très sympa et de bonne humeur. Bonne ambiance, accessible en chaise roulante et parking handicapé juste devant. Les prix sont tout a fait correcte, il est situé dans une rue ou il y assez bien...
