We had written off Overseas as when we looked them up a few months ago they only had a tofu stir fry that looked vegan, but when we glanced at the menu walking by we noticed that loads of stuff was marked vegan (not even vegetarian, the egg fried rice didn't have the leaf symbol). Even better they had a vegan soy meat protein option. There's only vegan meat with chilli or tofu stir fry, but they'll happily do whatever sauce you want. We had both the vegetable and Malaysian spring rolls to start, very similar but really lovely with the Malaysian ones having a bit of a kick.
The mains were sensational. We had vegan meat with satay and vegan meat with chilli and they were sincerely some of the best Chinese food we've had since going vegan. We also had salt and pepper chips which weren't on the menu but made no problem.
Service was just ok, helpful but not particularly friendly and a bit abrupt, but this has been our experience everywhere on this trip and we wouldn't let that stop us coming back. Prices were ok too - two starters, two mains, three sides and a beer and a...
Read moreWe recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at the incredible Asian bistro, Overseas. I can confidently say it was one of the best culinary experiences we have ever had in Tenerife! The star of the show was undoubtedly the sushi – particularly the Tempura rolls - Tara. They were nothing short of extraordinary. Each bite was an explosion of fresh, vibrant flavors, and the balance between ingredients was perfect. The fish was the freshest I’ve ever tasted, and the rolls were expertly crafted with such attention to detail. The texture was impeccable – tender, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The presentation was stunning, making it as much a feast for the eyes as it was for the palate. It’s without a doubt the finest sushi I've had in a very long time, and I’ll be coming back for more...well actually, we did, two days later to get more Tara rolls, this time as takeout to enjoy on the balcony of our hotel. Equally as spectacular as the first. Highly recommend this restaurant for sushi lovers or anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. Muchas...
Read moreWe went on a recommendation. Decided on the banquet for two. Choice was limited, but the biggest problem for us was that everything was served on cold plates. The chicken and sweetcorn soup was nice as was my wife's spring roll(2) option. The second course, ribs, only 4 between the two of us, but the sauce was very good. Followed by duck and 6 pancakes between us, but the pancakes were served on a cold plate so were cold even before they reached the table, so stuck together. Main course chicken and almonds with rice had little taste, plus, although the chicken and rice dishes had heaters under them, the rice one was not even lit. We had one large beer, a tonic water and a bottle of water. Although two of the younger staff were quite pleasant the third mber had a miserable demeanor, face and attitude, not a word spoken. In summary, not good value for money, service left quite a bit to be desired, even a "did you enjoy your meal" might have helped. We will not be back. Sorry there is just too much good...
