Not even close to a real Peruvian cuisine! The use of frozen Chinese fish, the lack of Peruvian ají Limo for cebiche or the fact that the four different dishes were disastrously prepared by clueless impersonators of the the greatest cuisine in the world; made me wish I didn’t go. I usually write good reviews and when I don’t like a place usually I avoid writing bad reviews as I understand anybody can have a bad day. But there is abut; the poor quality of the ingredients and the lack of Peruvian ingredients insulted my pride of being a cook for twenty years. “Arroz con mariscos,” it’s really made with fish broth, ají colorado, tomato paste, garlic, ají limo, minced onions, butter, cilantro, salt, pepper and real sea food AND NOT ONLY WITH PAPRIKA as it were a cheap Paella to color the rice without Safran. Please stay away from this fiasco of restaurant, save your time, money and keep your body in good health. I do not...
Read moreThis place has an extremely rude lady waiter. She was not welcoming at all. While waiting for my food, I accidentally spilled my beer and badly-soiled my serviette. I apologised to the waitress and asked for a spare one. To my horror, she bluntly said ‘NO’ as ‘I am allowed only one serviette!’ At first I thought she was joking but she was so serious about it, and it took me a lot of perseverance to get one spare clean serviette finally. This absolutely spoiled my appetite and mood even before my food was served. Just because they refused me one simple serviette, they will no longer have my business. I will not recommend this place to anyone, even if the food is decent. The prices have gone up but the standard of service is absolutely terrible. I hope the owner takes note and take...
Read moreMostly focusing on Peruvian dishes, but also have some local fare. We tried fish ceviche - not bad, the fish tasted fresh. However, we were told that they make the ceviche in advance; we asked for it to be prepared al momento, not to 'overcook' the fish. The portion was big. It included sweet potato and canchitas. 7/10. Yukitas fritas with huancaina sauce - the sauce was not a true huancaina sauce; tasted more like mayo with a bit of aji amarillo. They should review the recipe :) 6/10 Mejillones a la chalaca - although these large mejillones taste a bit different than Peruvian 'chorros', they were fresh and the salsa quite tasty. 8/10. Friendly service, good...
